Hotel Bären

This hotel is completely dated and in dire need of a refurbishment. The furniture in the rooms is old and rickety, the bed was completely saggy and squeaked with every turn. Some rooms are newly furnished, but not all. However, the bathrooms are old in all rooms, hair and dust collected behind the door, cleaning was only superficial and hastily. Our bathroom door didn't close properly, the room door had a big gap at the bottom, so when the light went on in the hallway at night, we could see it. Brown water came out of the shower in one of our rooms. The breakfast room is a large, dark 1970s hall, the loveless breakfast is not worth mentioning. I also found the food in the restaurant disappointing, it had the quality of ski hut food, frozen vegetables, overcooked noodles, faded fries. Another table was eating fondue and the whole restaurant smelled of the fondue fat. Only the proximity to the bobsleigh run and the Hotel Kulm are positive. I've been coming to the Pontresina / St Moritz area regularly for 25 years, the Hotel Bären is the first hotel that has so disappointed me. The price for the performance does not go at all.

Since the hotel accused me of only wanting to lower the price, I'm back here after 2 years and I have the same opinion about the hotel! The hotel room that was actually booked was already occupied. All of the furniture is showing its age. In short, the whole room looks dingy. When you check in you are not told that you have to request the key for the safe at the front desk. For slippers to use the pool you should even pay 2 CHF which at such a room price is just cheek. The desk was already full of the TV. In addition, you can hear every step that the roommates make. The food in the in-house restaurant gave me a stomach ache. Mann then denied the blame on the grounds that the egg they used was pasteurized. Regardless of whether the window was open or closed, the street is very noisy and at night you can hear the drunks screaming around. In addition, the beds are enormously uncomfortable and you can hear every noise from the kitchen. When I wanted to complain I was treated extremely rudely. On the balcony there is no view protection over to the neighbor. In addition, my room was not cleaned. You should check this hotel as a matter of urgency on the one hand the hygiene and on the other hand the stars of this hotel certainly didn't deserve 3 stars. Please do yourself a favor and visit another hotel. Unfortunately, I've already had that experience. (visited in February people should not be confused by comments)
