Absolutely great. Deserves a Michelin star! And a Bib in their Bistro. My favorite address in Le Gers. Service and food exquisite and eye for detail un French. Wonderful setting. You will not be disappointed to visit these great people in Saint Mont.

A wonderful 2 nights stay where our intervening day was spent visiting the countryside and a rural weekly market. Evening dinners were in the very intimate restaurants of chef Jean-Paul Tossens, who along with his wife and daughter own and manage the 12 room luxury appointed hotel. The repurposed former monastery has an adjacent village church dating to its start of construction in the 11th century. Seeing it’s simplistic beauty is worth the trip alone. The dinners were the lagniappe of our trip.

Our visit started so well; arriving at such a beautiful location and quite quickly receiving our order of cocktails and tasty mis en bouches. Then sadly the next 2 1/2 hours unfolded quite torturously; only one dinner menu available with absolutely no choices, Nouvelle Cuisine style teeny tiny portions (some a lot tastier than others) and interminably long waits between the dishes arriving. There was another more expensive truffle themed menu put in front of us which my companion tried to secure for himself but for some mysterious reason he was refused. Our French wasn't strong enough to get to the bottom of the reason why but my guess is that it contained one course for 2 people. We'll never know. I didn't eat my pigeon as it didn't appeal and there was no alternative By the time dessert arrived my dinner companion had left the resturant to give the dog a comfort break after a little howl of boredom came from under the table, he (the dinner companion) was also sticking to the chair as was I and not even wanting the raspberry themed dish on offer. I stayed merely to be able to ask for the bill to arrive as quickly as possible which it did. I polished off both desserts before leaving which, in my defence, were 2 x raspberry icecream chocolates each served with tiny blobs of cream and half a grape. Delicious. So glad to get home despite feeling somewhat hungry and £270 euros down Inc. 4x cocktails and one bottle of excellent rose champagne. If you are teeny tiny model meat eating type people with bird like appetites and not 2 average built hungry diners who have been gardening all afternoon like us, you will love this restaurant.

After a long drive, we were warmly welcomed by the hotel staff. The check in process was one of the best and most efficient we’ve ever experienced. We also made a dinner reservation quite last minute and were accommodated perfectly. The dinner was delicious, we had duck, escargots and a nice bottle of wine; not cheap, but quality was outstanding. The hotel itself is gorgeous and the location is stunning. The monastery is beautifully restored and the rooms are tastefully decorated. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom as well. Beautiful views of the fields and surrounding nature. Plenty of private parking space available. I wish we could stay a bit longer and enjoy the outdoor pool and spa area as well. Would definitely recommend staying and dining.

We stayed one night in the nice hotel. The room was spacious and the bathroom was very good. We had a nice view to the vineyard. The restaurant had one M star. The food and service was excellent. We had to buy some bottles of wine to bring back to Norway. The hotel had a swimmingpool but due to an English group of people making a lot of noise, we could not stay at the pool. The group brought loudspeaker and played very high music, drinking a lot of alcohol, breaking glass near the pool and they did not take into account that there were other guests at the hotel.

What an experience!!! We arrived in Saint Mont after a couple of weeks of traveling and had high expectations for a couple days of relaxation...we were blown away! A family-run business through and through, we were treated to incredible meals, wine, service and general pampering throughout our stay. Monastere de Saint Mont is an experience we are going to remember forever, and will continue to be the first place out of our mouths when anyone asks for any recommendations in the region.

What a spectacular monument. This is like a castle in the middle of water in the north part of France. You just have to catch the Sunset and Sun rise to get the best view of this place. The entire structure is very old and beautiful. There are several hotels that are very rustic and run down inside the castle. There are also lots of restaurants and shops in there. You could stay outside of the castle in other hotels and catch the bus to the place which run all day and all night. Just verify the time for different season. I believe it is worth seeing it while you ate in France which is 4 hours by car from Paris.
