George Brooks House B&B

My wife and I enjoyed a relaxing two-day getaway at this charming bed and breakfast. We stayed in Room 3, located on the first floor just steps from the pool. The room was spotless, beautifully decorated, and featured a lovely jacuzzi tub. Complimentary coffee, water, and non-alcoholic beverages were available, which was a nice touch. The property itself is stunning, meticulously landscaped with roses and other vibrant plants. It’s just a short walk to the heart of town, or an even quicker ride using the free bicycles provided. The pool and hot tub area were clean and well cared for, making for a peaceful retreat. Will, the innkeeper, was incredibly welcoming and shared the fascinating history of the property with us. He also prepared delicious breakfasts each morning that we thoroughly enjoyed. We highly recommend this bed and breakfast and look forward to returning in the future.

Our stay was very relaxing. The breakfasts were delicious, and we were able to eat them in the beautiful and well-maintained garden. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub after a long day sightseeing. We especially liked learning about the history of the house and the family that had lived there. George Brooks was a Black man who became very prosperous in the hauling business. He took in and raised seven of his sister's children in the house when she died unexpectedly.

It was our 50th Anniversary and we spent the weekend at this charming B & B. We felt relaxed in this inviting atmosphere. The home is lovely, the grounds are peaceful and gardens by the pool are breath taking. Surrounded by nature and towering trees, this area felt a world away from the main road, just up the street. A delicious breakfast served in a beautiful dining room, a coffee bar opened 24/7 and our host, Will, was knowledgeable and friendly. It was the perfect weekend!

We had the best time in St. Michael’s Island and very glad we decided to stay at the George Brooks house. The house is beautiful, the garden and grounds are spectacular and Will is the best. From the moment we arrived until the day we left, he made us feel like we were the only ones there, even though he was fully booked. I highly recommend this property to anyone who is heading to St. Michael’s.

The George Brooks house is a marvelous historical renovation with all the modern conveniences. My wife and I stayed there and my son also had a room for a local wedding. It’s extraordinarily well done and a wonderful bed-and-breakfast to stay at. Breakfasts were lovely, and Will and the staff were wonderfully accommodating. Will also offered free charging for my Tesla! We would recommend this to anybody who wants to stay in the area.

We arrived at about 4 pm. The road into the BandB was a bit hard to find and a sign on the road would help. The owner was just leaving and he told us how to check in. Once inside we were greeted by a charming reception area and had no trouble finding our room. It was terrific. Warm and inviting with wonderful views of the pool and beautiful gardens. All the amenities were as promised. The jacuzzi was delightful. We had expected to stay 2 nights but were interrupted by the untimely death of my wife's sister. The owner was very gracious about the 1 night stay. We definitely plan on coming back!
