Everyone at hotel including ski shop was very accommodating and very nice I recommend this lovely hotel ! It’s gotta amazing spa sauna and steam room, ski hire was reasonably priced compared to others and very easy access to ski out the door directly outside the locker room.

We loved everything about this hotel. Ski in ski out. Ski locker included & very convenient to slopes/ski school etc. amazing views from our balcony & throughout hotel. We love that Marielle has maintained a French chalet vibe in the bedrooms. Hence they're not huge rooms, but do have a luxurious vibe. Fluffy robes & slippers, Nespresso coffee machine & Nuxe products in bathrooms. Quality bed linen & pillows. The most comfortable bed ever. Temperature in the room is just perfect. There is a complimentary coffee station in reception & complimentary still/sparkling water on tap. Also delicious homemade treats daily. We regularly filled out water bottles here & enjoyed the snacks, while admiring the views from our balcony. Complimentary hamman & sauna was much appreciated in the evening. An added bonus was the amazing views from our sauna onto the ski slopes. The dining room is beautifully laid out, with various food stations clearly segregated. Delicious fresh breads daily. Fresh fruit salads/ yoghurt fridge/choice of granolas/hot cooked breakfast etc. Always hot & replenished constantly. Dinner each evening was delicious & varied. From sushi/fresh seafood starters to roast beef/lasagna/fried fish/chicken /roast pork during our stay. Every course was delicious each evening. We especially loved the rich French soup each evening too. Whoever cooks the pastries is very talented. Great selection each evening . The staff. What can I say? From the minute we walked in the door, we were greeted with a lovely smile & friendly service. Everywhere we went was the same. All kind, attentive, hard working, & professional staff . A credit to the Marielle . Loved the very cool uniform too, the white beret & khaki jacket. All in all the best ski holiday accommodation we have ever experienced. We can't wait to return. Thank you Marielle .

Having read the earlier reviews we were a bit worried about our visit but we had a fantastic time. - Location is unbeatable especially having a child in ESF ski school. - We had a superior room which had a super king bed, and armchair that turns into a single for our 6 year old. Ample space, cleaned every day, comfy beds, bathroom with bath tub was great. Room 420 with balcony was a super spot to watch the bashers before bed. - Staff were excellent and always on hand for anything you need. - Extra unexpected touches like welcome drinks, drinking water still and sparkling available on tap, tea/coffee in the lobby, toiletries in the bathrooms. - Spq treatment was the best I’ve had in a long time especially after a week on the slopes. - Locker room is a really valuable feature, if a little smelly! - Ski shop in the hotel was super and couldn’t be more convenient. - Drinks are great, a little pricy but hey, you’re on holiday! - Food is good for a buffet, loads of choice and they also have a feature dish each evening e.g fondue, sushi, crepes etc. Our only comment is that it feels like they’re trying to be smarter than it probably needs to be after a long day skiing, pizza night or burger night, or a massive lasagne could go down a storm but maybe that’s just our personal taste. - DJ in the bar early evening and the terrace comes alive in the sunshine. Overall we were impressed as a 4 star hotel and the biggest thing for us was the ski in ski out ease, you can’t beat it, we have re-booked for next year!

The view & location is absolutely perfect, it really is the best spot in Val Thorens! My first walk out of my balcony took my breath away. All the staff were all so friendly & attentive and the cocktails at the bar after a long day were amazing! Bedrooms were small but were clean & beds were extremely comfy. The shower was small but water pressure was great & piping hot! Breakfast was great, lots of variety to get a good breakfast in before skiing. The only negative was the evening buffet, the 7pm slot was absolutely packed with families so we went with the 830pm slot however we found we didn't get as much fresh/hot food as the 7pm slot. Also it could do with some pasta sauce to go with the pasta as my daughter found it a bit dry without. We decided to eat out a couple nights to break up the meals so wasn't a deal breaker for us. A fantastic break at Hotel Marielle and will hopefully be back next season!

Great location but a bad experience. Don’t stay here if you are serious about skiing - it’s very difficult to sleep in the rooms. The heating system is set to 21.5c or above and produces extremely dry conditions. A hotel technician said it’s crazy that the heat is so high but you can’t change it so just turn it off. But then it got very stuffy so we had to open the door. After an hour with the door open (and chilly -12c air coming in!) a strange extractor fan started up noisily so we had to shut the door. This continued each hour or so every night. The service in the restaurant was terrible - people had to ask multiple times for drinks before they arrived. Often we had finished our dinner before our wine came. The first wine we had was oxidised - a neighbouring table had the same trouble, with two bottles opened and rejected. The staff had no idea about wine or service. We left a day early because we needed some sleep. The hotel management had no sympathy and wouldn’t give us even a partial refund for the last night, despite the fact we were paying the full room rate. Very poor customer management. The last night we stayed in a charming hotel down the mountain for €80 - so much better!

My friend and I visited for the opening season and had a great time. The hotel was impressive, with everything we needed: a good breakfast, a nice restaurant and bar, a spa, and a well-organised kit area with lockers and heated boot storage that opened straight onto the slopes. Everything was smooth. The sauna overlooking the lower slopes was a great way to end the day. The staff were excellent, especially Jean from the concierge service, who was very helpful and even assisted us in digging out our car when we were leaving Val Thorens. As we left, the hotel gave us a box of chocolates and a 15% discount for our next booking, which was a nice touch. Overall, one of the best places I’ve stayed, and I’d definitely come back.
