In many ways the hoitel is better than the overall score I have given it. The main reasons for the low score: 1 - Our room on the groundfloor of the annexe had no sound insulation from the room above. ( woken at 1am to listen to loud voices and again at 6.15am. Every footstep above could be heard. 2 - The shower in this room was over a bath. The bath was 'plastic' and moved under my weight. Not what I would have expected in this class of hotel. What's wrong with a walk in shower? However, on the positives: - The staff were great. The Orangerie restaurant served superb food. The pool was great. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. The grounds are superb and the ambience is welcoming. A great place to stay if visiting Puy Du Fou.

Beautiful small hotel , very nice room and good restaurant. restaurant staff were very good especially the lady manager. The reception staff were awful , no smile , no welcome , no information about the hotel. The lady that we checked in and out with seemed to take offence in any thing we asked. The guy was better , but when my wife sliced her finger on the room fridge door , I ran down to ask for a plaster , I was told after 10 minutes that there are no plasters in the hotel (strange with 3 working restaurants) and I had to drive to get some . This hotel could be a hidden gem , but customer service needs approving .

Very beautiful and quiet hotel in a beautiful castle in Vendée. The rooms are beautiful and clean. The staff is friendly, the breakfast and dinner are very good. I highly recommend this hotel if you are in this area. The restaurant is very good for dinner.

Attention au prix d'appel car vous allez finir dans la maison du gardien à la sortie du domaine et vous n'allez pas voir la couleur du château. Chambre minimaliste répondant strictement aux critères d'un hôtel 4*. 2 capsules de café car le règlement ne presice rien à ce sujet, un caisson en guise d'armoir, climatisation chauffante avec du bruit, 1 seule et unique couette, servite bas de gamme, sale de bain sans porte, mal isolation, chambre froide en arrivant, sèche-cheveux miniscule, ets. Ils m'ont donné une chambre au 1er étage alors que mon fils avait la jambe entière dans le plâtre. Il a dû monter sur les fesses et descendre sur les fesses.

Literie de très bonne qualité. Petit déjeuner très correct. Chambre spacieuse et digne d’un 4 étoiles. Personnel agréable. Domaine et bâtiments magnifiques. Séjour royal pour nous qui étions de passage pour une seule soirée. On a regretté de ne pas rester plus longtemps.

Merveilleux endroit, nous avons passé une nuit et un petit déjeuner incroyable. La chambre était très propre, très reposante et la salle de bain digne d’un hôtel de luxe. Le petit déjeuner est juste impeccable du saumons, du chèvre, de l’emmental, du pain frais, des viennoiseries, des très bonnes crêpes, des madeleines tout y est pour ne pas manger le midi après ce petit déjeuner 😉 L’accueil des réceptionnistes est très chaleureux. Je recommande ce lieu si vous passer par la, au puy du fou par exemple !

Une expérience mitigée, le cadre est magnifique, le personnel est très accueillant à l’écoute des besoins du quotidien. Cependant un petit bémol concernant la propreté et l’hygiène : des traces sur les sol des sanitaires qui m’ont posé question quand à l’entretient avant notre arrivée: des poils, des cheveux. Une odeur se dégageait également de la literie et des draps de bain fournis. Le rapport qualité prix du petit déjeuner me pose aussi question: produits industriels et non locaux. Quelques imperfections qui m’étonnent dans un hôtel possédant 4 étoiles.
