Very comfortable for our business trip

Very friendly staff and quiet location

We booked a twin room at Hotel Kyriad Bergerac, it is around 3.5km from Bergerac centre-ville. The swimming pool close to the entrance of the hotel was glistening in the sun when we arrived and looked very inviting. Check in was fairly quick and we were given a room on the ground floor. The room was basic with limited facilities but we intended to stay in budget accommodation and paid accordingly. In the room was a TV with a fair range of channels, tea/coffee facilities were provided and the aircon was effective but leaky. The bathroom was fine with a decent sized bathtub and a powerful shower. We had breakfast on one occasion which was varied and plentiful. We ate on both evenings in the restaurant, the food was excellent and reasonably priced. We had a nice stay at Kyriad, it is best suited to people with cars. We didn't have a car on this occasion but we managed well, there is a frequent bus service into Bergerac ville from E. Leclerc at the retail park a short distance away.

I hope the management answer this review. I have stayed in many Kiriad hotels and I have had no problem with any of them. No greeting from miserable man on the desk. He just said he are your keys , no smile or words of welcome. When we saw the poky little room we were ready to walk straight out and sleep in the car. There were insects all over, many of them squashed on the walls and not cleaned. There was no WiFi as advertised. It felt like a nightmare.

It ain't the Ritz, but for the price charged (I paid €50 for a single room) it's darn good value for the money. There is a good restaurant within the hotel, a nice patio for drinks, and a swimming pool. Staff are very friendly and helpful. The whole place needs a fresh coat of paint (and the hallway carpets badly to be cleaned), but the rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable. I would happily return.
