Econo Lodge Inn & Suites

This was a place to drop ourselves at the end of two busy days. Clean enough but breakfast was not as stated unless you call a spoonful of beans a hot meal. No coffee, minimal bread to toast and no eggs or milk for cereal. Nobody anywhere including the front desk. We got locked out twice because the card didn’t work including at check in. I’d recommend elsewhere for the money.

Ownership changed 2 years ago. Seems like the new owners haven't done anything with the property since taking it over. First impressions of the outside - it looked abandoned. Trees and greenery overgrown, weeds coming up through the cracks of the pavement. Garbage can on the right side of the entrance just overflowing with garbage, with more on the ground beside it. Peeling paint, no picnic table anymore. Inside had stacked furniture at the end of the hall like they were switching out furniture then just stopped. We checked in. The girl behind the counter was polite. The room (309) was atrocious. We were greeted with a hot wave of stale air. The window with the screen couldn't be opened due to no crank, it was taken right out of the wall. The window that did open had no screen. The AC unit was LOUD while running, even on low. Food was left on the fridge from the previous guest. Bathroom light took 3 minutes after switching it on to light up a closet-space of a bathroom. There was no way I could sleep in such a hot room with a crazy loud AC unit and no way to safely open a window without bugs coming inside. We were there for only 5 minutes before asking for a refund and found other accommodations. I used to stay here while visiting family every year, we'll not be staying here again. Very sad to see the state of the place. Hopefully the new owners will invest in some maintenance and upgrades, both inside and out.

Located right off the Trans Canada. Making it ideal for people passing through. Our room was musty smelling when we arrived. We found that opening both doors, Windows and ac got rid of the smell. The room itself was clean especially the bathroom. The ac was LOUD. With that said, it was inexpensive, clean. Would I stay here again??? Maybe but only for a night on the way somewhere else

My husband and I stayed here for one night. It was an excellent price for a hotel that had breakfast. This hotel was great for an Econo Lodge. This hotel is located near a few restaurants and stores in the Saint John area. The room was mostly clean. The bed was comfortable, though the pillows were flat. The room was very quiet. The lights above the sink were out.

SELDOM anyone at reception, had ask for soap! Breakfast room down stairs. Got to the breakfast room just before 9am, NO coffee, NO Napkins, NO fruit, NO Juice, NO attendant anywhere to ask and no one replenishing anything! The room had been painted some time ago and the painters tape was still around the doorways etc. This place needs needs Management and someone who cares.

This is an old style road side motel on a road that's long been bypassed by the modern highway. Our room was very clean and updated fairly recently. The marked parking spaces are wider than most making it very easy to unload and load our car. The outside area, next to the parking lot could use more frequent staff attention as I did see empty drink glasses and cigarette butts that should have been cleaned up. Staff were helpful and the price for the night provided good value for the dollar. The complimentary breakfast wasn't up to the standard of most travel motels these days with limited selection and little room to sit and eat. The motel is located to the west of Saint John proper and I will certainly check out this motel next time I'm passing through the area. Certainly better value, especially for one night's stay on the road, that the newer hotels to the east of town near Costco. Ask for a room on the south side of the building. Since the motel is located on a bluff well above the TransCanada Highway, I don't recall hearing any traffic from our room. The north side faces a church and old cemetery.

Sketchy, grungy, serial killer vibes. The room smelled horrible. The bed linen had a boot print in the middle of the sheet. The walls and door jams look as of they have never been cleaned with flecks of what I hope was ketchup here and there. The hide a bed couch was so old that the fabric was worn and greasy where peoples heads would rest. I canceled my reservation which they did without questions asked. Really disappointed because this was a Choice hotel.

This property is undergoing a renovation so there was construction material and debris everywhere. They advertise breakfast, but for a motel "breakfast" it was the worst we experienced on our trip and that was comparing it so all the other locations that served cereal, toast, and waffles. Hopefully after the renovation everything will be great again -- including "breakfast".
