Very disappointed; smells of sewage when entering the 70s style room; zero catering single menu without choice and unjustified price at 35 euros (pâté as a starter chicken pasta inedible as a camembert and crème brûlée dish)…. Breakfast where you have to ask for the orange juice, napkins and small ramekins for the jam; we won't come back, that's for sure!

Hello! We booked our "Marché de Noël weekend" in Alsace as a package. The Hotel "Munsch" is located below the "Haute Koenigsbourg", right by the vineyard, with the "charm of bygone times" that we like. We received a friendly welcome. To welcome us in the afternoon, a "Cremant", on the house. The room was super clean, shower, separate toilet!, pleasant atmosphere, with 2 armchairs, table and TV. When the weather is not so pleasant, this is a pleasant comfort. Breakfast was from the buffet. What we particularly liked: "cheese from France", the "Camembert" was outstanding. Freshly baked "Guglhupf." The "Café-Bar", a "fully automatic machine", with many varieties, good quality coffee. Half-board is obligatory in France. In the beautiful restaurant, "Aux Ducs Lorraine", in the house, we were served a 3-course meal every evening, freshly prepared. We really "enjoyed" it. The The wine list offers regional wines and more, also by the carafe. We were not able to improve our "French skills" this time either. We would have liked to have had more contact with "people from and in the hotel". What we remember fondly is "gastronomy & hotel business." This "interaction" does not happen very often. The proximity to Bergheim, Egiusheim, Obernai, Kaysersberg, Riquewihr, Ribeauville and also Colmar is also very pleasant. Our recommendation: drive on the "Alsace Wine Route", the trips through the towns are an experience and never cease to amaze us. There is an old carpet in the room that is at least 40 years old. It is full of stains....it is not very hygienic! especially since a pungent smell is released when you enter. Apart from this detail which is unfortunately important, the bedding is very good. The staff is great, very attentive to the slightest comment, polite and friendly. The meal is good even if unfortunately it is not cooked on site. For my part, the really positive side of this experience is the kindness and know-how of the staff!
