Radisson Blu Hotel, St. Gallen

I arrived in the early evening, checked in and went to the room. I opened the door and was about to step inside when I saw there were used towels on the floor. I initially thought perhaps the room hadn’t been cleaned yet but then I noticed a man’s underwear lying around. I don’t know if the owner of the underwear was still there as I immediately shut the door and went back to reception. However, the room was clearly occupied and it is only by pure luck I didn’t walk in on someone just getting out of the shower. The receptionist was very apologetic and immediately offered an upgrade, however this was very unnerving for me, as a woman travelling solo. I didn’t sleep, thinking every noise in the corridor outside my door might be somebody about to come in, having been given the wrong room key. I may not travel every week for business but I do travel a fair bit and I have never had an experience like this. It might not have been quite so shocking in a less reputable hotel chain. I still don’t have an adequate explanation as to how this happened and what steps will be taken to ensure it doesn’t happen again, as such, it has put me off Radisson (and hotels in general as, from now on, I will always be nervous of the situation recurring and having some random stranger burst into the room.
Tailormade Hotel LEO St.Gallen

Very stylish interior and quite large with its 6 floors. Gorgeous terrace and very quiet despite its location very near the train station... Also good breakfast for CHF 19.- plus convenient overnight parking for CHF 25.- The only two drawbacks to note are no scrambled eggs for breakfast and the fitness center covering almost one floor features only one bike... (yes!)

My first thought is how this hotel only has 3 stars. The room was clean, nothing out of the ordinary. The bed was comfortable, maybe a tad soft for my liking. The noise from other rooms were quite low compared to other hotels I experienced. The staff were very polite and very serviceminded. Overall a good stay.

This is a lovely place that feels away from everything. It has spacious air-conditioned rooms with plenty of closet spaces and plenty of hangers (what a treat!) besides having a good nice size bathroom with a great shower. The beds are firm and with many elevators. The rooms also have balconies facing green fields with nice paths, swimming pool and lounging areas. Very peaceful. The breakfast is good and the staff courteous. What else can you ask for? There are buses a little way outside the hotel, so if one does not have own transportation this could be a drawback though. Recommended.

We had booked a apartment in November, we received information in December that the apartment was not bookable for technical reasons, we received a Studio Apartment Junior Kitchenette Balcony. We had booked this also. Check in with code in the parking garage as well as in the studio without problems. Communication via email smoothly. We wanted another ceiling, we received it promptly. Cleaning staff were very friendly and premature, thank you very much. 1 x apartment cleaning and bed linen change, as well as towel change during our one-week stay. Studio was pleasantly large, all that you brought, carpet for 2 people. A pan and a brad pan, fireplace, microwave, washing machine, other extras to feel comfortable, bed comfortable. About Silvester there, it was very quiet, despite good use. The other guests were almost nothing heard, except when they were on the balcony to smoke, but that didn't disturb us. The hotel is located on a very busy main street, but the windows are closed, you heard nothing. It was possible to extend, we had considered this, but the weather conditions of the coming days had led us to travel home. As we visited our family, this was ideal, we would book again, in any case, but via the homepage of the apartment provider.

The style of the hotel is modern, the appearance is unremarkable, the hotel is very clean, the bathroom is very good, the decoration of the room is very general, even a bit ugly, especially the curtains. But the important thing is to have air-conditioning. For those traveling to Switzerland at the end of June, air-conditioning is so important. Most hotels in Switzerland do not have air-conditioning. (35 degrees lasts until nine o'clock in the evening, indoors are usually hotter than outdoors.) The breakfast is quite satisfactory and acceptable. But there is no sense of being served by the waiter at all.
