La Grand Career is a hidden gem. The owners - Sophie and Stephane - are generous and welcoming hosts. They connect with you fast and offer one of the best informational letters I have ever received regarding your visit and what you want and need to know. Their historic Bed & Breakfast home is beautiful and just that - a comfortable, secure, well-designed, tastefully decorated. well-maintained home. They have you in mind in all ways and always. Your privacy is respected. You receive top level service - lovely linens, great bed for sleeping, well-appointed modern bathroom ( I stayed in the spacious 'Josephine Room' ). Breakfast was Delicious - an abundant offering of breads, cereals, fruit, coffee, and teas (in a large cup, and I adore that choice) jams+++ I especially loved the homemade strudel by Sophie, and spiced fruit compote! This is a magnificent Maison d'hote (B and B). The quality and cleanliness of our room was outstanding. The breakfast was substantial and delicious, with great care taken to provide me with gluten and lactose free items. The proprietors were friendly, helpful and welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble. Our stay was a wonderful experience and we will never forget it. The location is ideal for visiting the main town of Tours with the tram stop nearby. Notwithstanding the town location, our room was very quiet.

We loved our stay at La Grande Carree. It has been lovingly renovated. We stayed on the 2nd floor. The air conditioning was a gift in the unexpected high temperature . The room was stunning with antique beams and modern toilets. Breakfast is excellent with treats like pain perdue or fruit crostata. Sophie & Stephane are excellent hosts.

Everything was absolutely wonderful! First, the building was beautiful: they perfectly merged the historical nature of the building with modern conveniences and a gorgeous color scheme. The hosts were great with restaurant recommendations (l'Etape Gormande is a must), an additional castle to visit, and explaining the building's story. The rooms were comfortable and relaxing.

De locatie is goed wel buiten het centrum maar het openbaar vervoer stopt om de hoek . Er is een privé parking . Wij hadden een ruime kamer op de 2e verdieping , mooi en proper . Wel een steile klim . Het standaard ontbijt is zeer basic , brood en zoet beleg . De eerste keer dat ik in Frankrijk geen kaas bij het ontbijt kreeg ! Je kan wel een supplement betalen voor kaas en charcuterie en dan moet je zelf je eitje koken ! De uitbater is totaal niet klantvriendelijk, vraagt weinig of niets . Een welkomst drankje krijg je niet . Hij geeft geen informatie maar is wel kwaad als gasten iets te vroeg aankomen en mogen drie kwartier aan het zwembad wachten ( tot 16u en geen minuut vroeger) vooraleer ze hun kamer krijgen . Dat dezelfde zwembad na 16u nog moet gekuist worden is ook niet de beste timing . De gastvrouw is vriendelijker . Voor die hoge prijs vindt je veel betere B& B .
