Pro’s: Really comfortable bed / mattress ensuring a good nights sleep. Lovely welcome from reception staff. Cons: Dated and tired room - looks like it’s time for Premier Inn to reinvest in modernising this site. Shower curtain - no one likes a shower curtain these days!

We stayed here for one night whilst travelling between two holiday destinations and loved it. We took advantage of the dinner/breakfast meal deal, which is excellent value for money. The room was quiet and very clean, with a very comfortable bed and the food was very good indeed. Shall definitely return when the opportunity arises.

The hotel way very convenient as a stop off on my way up to Scotland being at the side of the M6, the bonus of a EV point was also of benefit. Upon arrival the hotel and adjacent restaurant look tired. The check in was prompt and the room of a typical Premier Inn standard. I was aware the hotel had no air conditioning prior to arrival, however the one inch gap for fresh air into the room just allowed the oscillating fan to circulate hot air. Temperature in the room was a stifling 27c and my sleep was compromised as a result. The WiFi was also dire and even the upgrade to the premier service was woeful. It would seem to me that Whitbread are not investing in older locations and as a business traveler I am going to have to rethink the use of this brand. The basics of WiFi and air conditioning are available at many “budget” brands at a similar of not more cost effective rate

The price was high making the awful experience worse, the room was so hot we after a five hour journey needing rest could not sleep. A small fan is supplied which when sat on the table next to the bed provided some air for the person nearest to it only, we left the windows open but the road noise was relentless. We just did not sleep , the curtain was hanging off the rail in the room . The shower curtain was hanging off and the dispensers were dirty. Thinking a bath would be relaxing I tried but could not get the unit to switch from shower to bath, it was somehow impossible to move. Facing a further four hour drive without sleep was not ideal. Having stayed here before there was a noticeable decline

Although now looking a little dated and could do with a little TLC this hotel does not lack in service. From the moment you walk in the team are friendly and attentive to your needs, perfect stop off for an onward journey to Scotland

We first stayed in this Premier Inn a year ago but unfortunately twelve months later we feel that it has become very tired and dated. The outside paintwork is peeling badly and the area generally looks unkempt. However, reception staff were pleasant and our Premier Plus room was clean. The traffic noise, even with the windows closed, was a nuisance. The Beefeater restaurant is fairly scruffy. Chairs, carpets, etc are stained. The food was fine and once again, staff were pleasant. Breakfast was spoiled a little for us by the large group of noisy workmen whose language at times was unacceptable. Staff explained that they are aware of this problem and are dealing with it as best they can. The best part of our experience here was the fact that staff were welcoming and helpful. However, we won't be staying again.

Room was clean and very welcoming, there were little sweets and bubbles put on the bed for our children which was very thoughtful and made their day. The reception staff couldn't have been nicer :-) rooms a bit stuffy with no air conditioning but the fan worked a treat :-)

The aptly numbered Room 101, the room where dreams of a good night sleep go to die. Stayed during a hot spell on June and the room was extremely hot, stale and stuffy. The window was extremely small, about 8-12 inches tall and did not lend well to getting fresh air into the room. The room is right next to the main door for the corridor, which meant that the door slammed through the night as it closed behind other guests. That combined with the noise from the motorway and the stifling trapped heat in the room made for a very poor experience. We complained to reception in the morning and were told to call the main line to try and get a refund which was refused.
