We had a lovely weekend stay here in August as the perfect ‘kids are with the grandparents’ retreat. The house and grounds are absolutely stunning and the Amberley Suite with its four-poster bed, huge bathroom and powerful shower did not disappoint. Paul and Alan are excellent hosts and the nightcaps and breakfast were wonderful. We were seated with two other couples at breakfast, which would usually be something I would recoil from, as I am so far from being a morning person, but everyone was lovely and the conversation flowed easily, helped along no doubt by the bubbles, and it was a valuable opportunity to hear from them and our hosts about places to visit in the area. Hugs all round when we left! Thank you so much Paul and Alan for a great break x

Thank you to Paul and Alan for such a wonderful stay. Possibly the most beautiful residence in Rye and the most charming company. They pay such attention to detail, from a glass of wine on your arrival to discuss your stay, to a fabulous breakfast menu. The breakfast is way above the standard of usual bed and breakfast accommodation. Alan’s hollandaise sauce is a must, and Paul’s offer of bubbles at breakfast helps to kickstart the relaxation! Everything is meticulously clean and the views from our room were spectacular. Perfect location to visit Rye, and in walking distance of Rye Harbour and Camber Sands. A wonderful break away.

Thank you Paul and Alan for such fabulous stay at Saltcote Place. What attention to detail! Drinks on arrival, fresh flowers and fruit in the rooms, luxury toiletries, nightcaps at bedtime. The breakfasts are delicious, so much choice, fresh fruit, every possible cooked breakfast choice, pastries and bubbles too should you wish! We had a wonderful time! Oh and the house is spotlessly clean!

Where to begin? I booked Salcote Place on behalf of my parents I called up and spoke to Paul one half of the team . Chatting to him I knew straight away my parents would be in good hands he was so lovely and it felt I was talking to a friend . Mum called me on arrival saying how beautiful the house and grounds are and just how welcoming Paul and Alan are They had the most amazing 2 nights stay with all the luxurious surroundings in the most beautiful suite Nothing was too much, the breakfast was delicious with so much variety. My Mum’s words were “I wish they was part of our family” that just says it all Thank you Paul and Alan for giving them such a lovely weekend and for being the most amazing hosts

Saltcote Place is a very elegant house. Quiet, beautifully decorated and spacious. The grounds are very pretty and it’s a convenient walk to the restaurants and sights of Rye. Paul and Alan, the inn keepers were so fun to talk to and helped us enjoy our stay in Rye in many ways.

What a pleasant surprise, we normally don’t stay at B&Bs but our stay at Saltcoate Place has convinced us that high-end hotels do not have a monopoly on luxury accommodation. Paul and Alan have a spacious and spectacularly decorated villa with fantastic grounds and a grand view of the countryside and channel. The two of them are so generous: wine at reception, great explanation of sights to see and places to eat in Rye, a night cap every evening, and Alan’s breakfast is second to none!

Wow! We have just spent 3 nights at Saltcote Place. The whole experience was brilliant. From the first we were welcomed warmly with a glass of wine to the luxurious house by Paul. Our suite was perfect, spotlessly clean with lots of special touches - fresh fruit, tea, coffee and delicious biscuits and fresh flowers. Rye is a lovely place to visit and we received lots of recommendations from our hosts for great restaurants. Our breakfast really set us up for the day with delicious food cooked by Alan ‘bubbles’ poured by Paul - a great way to start the day! Paul and Alan are the perfect hosts and so much fun.

The phrase B & B just does not begin to do justice to Saltcote Place. It is something else! Everything about it - the setting, the interior decor, the comfort of the rooms - is on a level way above the norm - and Paul and Alan are such gracious and attentive hosts. You may look at the costs and think "Wow, that's expensive for a B & B", but believe me, it's worth it.

An excellent choice for a memorable weekend away with my elderly mother in law. From the moment we arrived every effort was made to ensure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. The hosts clearly enjoy sharing their beautiful home. The accommodation was perfect- two very comfortable large rooms linked by a hallway with two bathrooms. Ideal for the three of us. Delicious breakfast, freshly prepared and served with optional bubbles!
