The views were wonderful, but the condo was old, it needs a bit of a makeover. I didn't get the sense that the condo was super clean, and it smelled when we walked in. Also, the manager and owner are very nice, but they messed up my reservation. I specifically told them I didn't want the 3rd floor condo, and that's the one we ended up with. It was really difficult for me to maneuver three flights of stairs.

It started out as a negligent situation, they tried to fix , but never admitted to such. They were having a snowstorm, and I actually thought it was nice that they contacted me the night before my check in , that I needed a 4wd or chains on tires to get into property or park on road. Or change my dates. Well this was a one and done road trip , I figured I would cancel and we would skip ruidoso. Funny , then it was to late to cancel. So we went , driveway was not plowed , but that wasn’t their fault. Now it begins. We had an AWD vehicle do we made it into unplowed parking lot. Got out room and it was freezing. They FORGOT to turn on the heat. Hello …. Checking in. It’s a blizzard. We left and turned heaters up. Came back 4 hrs later. Still very cold. He brought us more space heaters and fire wood , that we were not going to pay for.they charge 10$ for 6 pieces. Lol then tells you he gave you an extra one. We could not get the fire started. We just went to bed. It did warm up. But was not happy with the way we were treated. My husband goes to take a shower and the cold water does not work. Omg. Maintenance came and says it was frozen. Mean time I wanted to check out and not pay for the second night. He was not nice and says he did everything he could and that was that. Was not giving our money back. Says he gave us Soave heaters and fixed the shower. He says this and doesn’t even know yet that it was frozen. When I tell him this and state that we can’t even shower , what am I paying for ??!! He finally says he’ll refund the second night so we can leave. He sound have refunded everything and apologized. But it’s not his fault. They were having a snow storm. Everyone was cold. You’ve got to be kidding me. Sorry this is so long , but I’ve never ever had such a bad experience and I’ve never written a bad review. I can find good in most things. But not this one. Get better management or close down , to guests.

We arrived and it was very cold and icy. Sami was most helpful in assisting us in the parking lot and even helped us unload our car. The 1 bedroom condo warmed up quickly. It was rustic and cozy and the view was spectacular. We couldn't have had a better time and are already planning our next trip.

We went the middle of November and took advantage of the cooler weather. The rooms were very well insulated. They have electric heaters as well as a fireplace but we only needed to use them to warm the rooms up. The property is an older property but it overlooks the town and the mountains, which more than makes up for a shortcoming or two. The couch could have been a bit more comfortable but we were outside most of the time. The bed was really comfortable. We enjoyed the wildlife that came through every morning and afternoon. Management is friendly and helpful. We will be back!

I really wanted to like this place, and after meeting the owner, I didn't want to slam the business, but I think I was misled to the quality of this place, and calling it a hotel isn't fair. I would want other travelers to know what they are getting into before booking here. It started with advertising the views, and asking if we had a floor preference, to which I replied I'd love to be on the 3rd floor, as it was a romantic first stay in Ruidoso. Please do not book here if you are trying to have a romantic night. They messaged me back that my room is on the first floor. As we drove in there was broken down old foundation in front of the view of the first building. Guess what room they put us in? There were no typical hotel amenities. No soap, nothing in the bathrooms. Old, run down, limited privacy, poor weather stripping. What hotel doesn't have blackout curtains? Every vehicle that parked shined their lights in our room. There was a road light that shone in our room. It's an old condo building, not a hotel. Some wall heaters work, some are just for show. Updates were absolutely not done correctly so it looked pretty beat up. I tried to make the best of it, and impress my girlfriend. They said they had bundles of "firewood" for $10. When I purchased a bundle, the owner said he thinks he might have a bad batch, but it will light. It didn't. I know how to start and keep a fire. Went through 3 fire starters trying to get one chunk of log to light. It would start and then quickly go out on it's own. I tried different logs. I stoked it for an hour before giving up. The insulation is terrible. My upstairs neighbors tromped around all night, and played loud music during the day. I was really happy to leave this place, and won't be returning. I feel like I deserve a refund.
