The food was amazing. But I'm sad to say the room wasn't the best. Carpet hadn't been cleaned I think since last yr when we went, cobwebs and dead flies in bedroom and bathroom so couldn't have a shower. Though they said last yr they were really doing bedrooms but looks like nothing has changed the carpet to the rooms should be blue but it's dirty and black 😔 was such a shame was so looking forward to seeing the rooms done

Good nights sleep
Comfortable and clean but only used as somewhere to sleep. Church clock chimes every quarter which did not bother me but may some people

Called in on the off chance of Sunday lunch. Old Traditional pub. Staff very attentive and welcoming. I had the roast beef and my husband had the beef and chicken. Beef was very tasty and tender and the chicken was also very tender. Both served with a good selection of sides. Would definitely recommend and will be returning.

We enjoyed lunch here today. The decor is great and ambience. The barman was great being very attentive and professional. The staff here are always very welcoming and a joy. I dont know how the owner can attract such a fantstic team. Our meals were delicious and cooked on the premises. A talented chef indeed. This is by far the best food and pub in the area. I highly recomend.

The pub its self is good. The rooms are less than budget. I was not happy with the first room and the photos I post is of the second room offered and was better than the first. The place is dirty, filthy dirty. Dust, cob webs, stained carpets, mould and the beds, well I’ve had better nights sleep on the floor. The carpet leading to the rooms is black. The carpet in the room is sticky. Avoid staying here at all costs. I didn’t eat here as the rooms were so dirty I would not trust the kitchen to be much of an improvement. Really poor accommodation. Dust everywhere. Curtains falling down. Remote for tv does not turn on or off.

Nice big room however it is a bit tired.
The mattress was lumpy, TV remote did not work very well and only way to turn TV off was to unplug it and shower head was covered in a brown deposit. Getting into the room was not easy on first floor but the floor was not level so I had to go down a few steps then up again in quite a narrow space.

This town pub/hotel is very welcoming. Home cooked food, real ale, good wine. My room was clean and comfortable. The staff and clients are very friendly. I stayed for my Grand Prix weekend and found it very convenient. Thoroughly recommend it for the price.
