I'll start with the positives: We traveled down for a family members wedding and stayed at this venue. The location is convenient, and the off-street parking with cameras is a nice touch. Now, the negatives… ( The 5 star reviews are not genuine! Not with the experience we had ) We arrived 10 minutes early, and the host let us in begrudgingly, saying the room "should be clean." We later found out he charged us extra for those 10 minutes. If I had known, I would have just waited in the car. The room was average at best—nothing special and definitely not clean. When we asked for dinner recommendations, the host made us feel guilty for not eating on-site. We ended up driving a couple of minutes up the road to The Ship Inn, which had excellent food and a nice atmosphere. There’s also a hotel there (wish we’d stayed there instead). Be aware that if you bring your own drinks, you'll be hit with an extra charge. Word of advice: don’t let them know, or another fee will be added. The breakfast was disappointing—definitely not fresh and of poor quality. The woman serving it also had an attitude, making the whole experience unpleasant. For some bizarre reason, the host seems to follow you around everywhere and it made me and my partner feel uncomfortable. The grounds themselves are lovely, and the location is good, but the rooms definitely need improvement. Overall, it wasn’t worth the price, and I won't be returning. From now on, if we have another reason to return to the area I’ll be staying elsewhere
