Hotel very good, room was very hot due to the weather but two fans were in the room. Air-conditioning in the room would be nice.

We've stayed here before and found it ok, but these two one-night visits last week were hardly satisfactory. FIRST STAY Accommodation was fine. Clean room etc as expected. A bit warm, but a fan was provided. At check-in the desk wasn't manned. The person had to be summoned from the restaurant. It seems that job covers both areas. We had booked a meal deal. Fine - but on ordering there were no pizzas, no pies, no steaks. Simply not good enough. We were told that the deliveries were to blame. Sorry, but that doesn't wash. No apology offered by server. I thought it a bit bizarre that because I have a cooked cheese allergy I needed to be given freshly hand-washed cutlery. Nice thought, but ???? Breakfast was OK, and to be fair the poached eggs were lovely. But no margarine spread. We had to make do with butter. Generally, service was very slow. Restaurant was quiet with perhaps just 4 or 5 tables in use with 2 servers on duty. SECOND STAY Accommodation, all as above. We did buy a meal deal having discussed our options. Still no pizzas, but there were steaks and pies. So a bit better there. One server on duty, plus the reception person who was seen taking orders at the tables, and again service was slow. I had to ask for our order to be taken, but being fair he was a pleasant chap! Breakfast was ok. No plain yogurt was disappointing, and still no margarine spread and very little butter on display. Stocking up also not good. WOULD I STAY AGAIN? Surprisingly, yes I probably would, because of it's closeness to M5. But it would depend on the price on offer. There it is. Pay your money, take your choice! And yes, I really am a retired hotel manager of a 4* hotel on the edge of Cumbria / Yorkshire.

Room ventilation is rubbish the room temperature stayed at 31 degrees all night even with fans going all night apart from that the mattress was the best we have ever had at a premier shame we couldn’t sleep because of the heat

I stayed overnight in the Rubery Premier Inn due to it's proximity to where I was working the following day. Unfortunately it was one of the hottest days of the year, and as this is an older Premier Inn there was no air conditioning in the room, which made getting a good nights sleep difficult, in spite of the good quality of the bed.

Quiet hotel, ideal for an overnight stay. Very comfortable beds. Great value for money with the meal deal for dinner, and free breakfast for children. Friendly and helpful staff.

What a welcome…FIRST CLASS without the ’company-trained’ falseness: thank you Aaron and good luck with your degree. First, the one complaint… PROBLEM - CURTAINS too long. SOLUTION - RAISE the ceiling: too expensive! LOWER the floor: too complicated! SHORTEN the curtains: too obvious! Seriously, an absolute gem. Clean, Friendly, Comfortable and an absolute Bargain: £116 for two nights, no breakfast* but with free parking and no charge for the smiles. * sometimes McDonalds is a quicker option, you don’t get ‘delayed trying to eat for the day?’ Didn’t try the food, but Aaron’s Staff Burger looked very tempting - which he left to get cold to book us in - even Sharon a ‘trainee Vegan’ was impressed. Don’t know if this is general at Premier Inns, but our room was very spacious, possibly kept for ‘Management on Tour’ with room for working…just ask when booking?

The property is in a nice quiet area but I had a loud generator under my window which closed down at midnight and started up noisily at 06.30 in the morning, so no chance of a good sleep. Coupled with this, the builders had evidently saved money on sound insulation. If this is not done properly, a building like this turns into a drum. Every step, door closure, running of water can be heard throughout the building - and this is the case with this hotel. Although my night's sleep was poor, the bed was very comfortable.

Our go to home from home for a good night's sleep. Staff always welcoming, rooms always clean. If the room is short of anything ( t bags/ towels) staff have remedied immediately. Have tried Airbnb but prefer the more personal touch we have found with Premier.

Food was awful for dinner (pie was so overcooked it was inedible), and breakfast felt like it had been kept warm so had gone hard and dry. The lift had a fan which was loud so automatically made you look and the dust was horrendous and my room wasn't clean. Dirty cotton wool pads letting the bathroom. Water was available in reception but the tap on the jug was so tight you couldn't open and there was only 1 cup available. No team members in constant attendance, always had to ring a buzzer.
