After reading some poor reviews I was a bit worried about our planned stay but we have had a fabulous couple of nights here while attending the Goodwood festival of speed. Lovely clean comfortable room, friendly helpful staff and delicious meals. One slight criticism is the shower but there was plenty of hot water and nice shower gel and shampoo. Would definitely stay here again.

Under NEW MANAGEMENT, So pleased to go back to this pub which has the best position on The Green as it is now under the management of Steve and Sarah. Very welcoming and nice atmosphere. We had a very nice evening meal here tonight and wish them both much success in their new venture. We will definitely be back.

On the off chance we popped in for lunch. Chose the burger and fries with bacon jam. A double burger in brioche bun. Very filling and very tasty along with a good beer. We were the only people in the restaurant area, but we were having a late lunch. The team were friendly, helpful and lunch served pretty quickly. We would go again. Lovely village setting.

We had a meal which was piping hot and absolutely delicious. Priced well and although we had planned on having one course we ended up being totally greedy and has three, all of which were delicious. Lovely friendly staff. I would definitely come again and will recommend it to friends and family. Thank you x

We had an excellent Sunday lunch. Food was well cooked and tasty, with a nice select of vegetables. Generous portions too. My husband is quite fussy about gravy but had no complaints here. Service was very good with the staff being welcoming. Reasonably priced too.

We will never stay here again. Extremely distressing end to our stay. Ruined the trip completely. There is no check out system at this pub. The cleaners have keys to your rooms and will enter and clear out your belongings without checking whether you have left the premises. They are unprofessional and rude to customers. I booked two rooms for one night. The booking was made by phone and the payment taken over the phone. There were no confirmation details sent or given. On arrival we were shown to our rooms, told that breakfast was not served at the pub but could go to a nice cafe nearby. No mention of check-out time, and I didn’t think to ask. The pub doesn’t open until 11.00am so assumed that would be the check out time. Whilst having breakfast nearby the following morning, the receptionist called me at 10.20am to say the cleaners were in the rooms asking about our belongings! She told me the check out was at 10.00am, so I asked if 11.00am would be possible? She said yes. We returned to our rooms around 10.40 to find the cleaner had cleared out the rooms, changed bedding etc and gathered all my belongings, makeup, shoes, clothes, toiletries etc and bundled everything randomly into my two bags. With dirty outdoor shoes thrown on top of clean clothes. She had even dismantled my stand up makeup mirror! I was extremely distressed at all of this, and it completely ruined my day. She still attempted to walk into the room claiming rudely that check out was at 10.00am! Who is in charge here, the cleaners!? Regardless of checkout time, the cleaners have no right to enter the room until our keys have been handed to reception. And no right to touch and pack away personal belonging! Besides it had been agreed we could stay until 11.00am. There was no apology, and despite emailing the company a month ago, still no reply!

We booked the Robin Hood for a birthday/father's day celebration with a party of 13 on a Sunday afternoon. Our party wasn't simple including vegetarians, vegans and various other complications but the staff and kitchen were great and really helpful. All the food was lovely, with most of the menu options tried, and with plenty of fresh vegetables brought to the table. A thoroughly enjoyable meal and experience for everyone in a good environment.

Have not been here for a meal in a few years but what a difference. Greeted by Meg who was very welcoming and answered any questions we had; we also had a new member of staff waiting our table who was very polite and attentive but not intrusive. The food was lovely and I thought reasonably priced. Will definitely not leave it a few years to go back.
