Hotel Metsähirvas

Very nice and friendly staff. Clean and spacious room. The location is not convenient but the scenery is extremely beautiful.

Great hidden gem This place is a bit outside Rovaniemi (18 min by car) along the road towards South. We took it to accomodate us on our way back home from family skiing trip at Levi. The building is an old schooling facility for the forest rangers. You can feel the history of the buildings but inside the rooms you have a modern touch. The rooms are very spaceous and allowed easily our 4 person family to fit in with ease. The breakfast was great and the staff was very helpfull and nice. There was a sauna also downstairs that we didn't get to test this time. Also I suppose the river next to the hotel would be open for swimming during the summer months.

This historic old building away from light pollution not far from Santa’s Village or City Center is one of a kind. A series of unfortunate events resulted in 36 hours of travel from Florida to Amsterdam and lost luggage. Desperately in need of sleep and smooth sailing for the Finland portion of our trip. I have so many wonderful things to say about the whole experience but there was some miscommunication that our already extremely tight budget really put us in a tough spot. First off I don’t want this to come off as we did not enjoy our stay or that it was anyone’s fault really booked for 17.03.2025 -20.03.2025 and another hotel in Levi 20.03.2025-22.03.2025 in June for my boyfriend’s first international trip for his 30th! We checked out Tuesday morning and enjoyed half a day in Rovaniemi then drove 2.5 hours to what we thought was our next hotel in Levi arriving at 1930 thinking we had reservations Wednesday night but I was wrong. I know customer service is different in the EU but wow why the heck wouldn’t you want to inform or inquire why a guest was checking out early. I’m not rich I cannot just pay for 3 nights use two then buy another night elsewhere. I emailed the hotel immediately and I was told people check out early all the time and it is not their business to ask why. This situation resulted in 229£ of a night reserved lost here 180£ for the sauna cold plunge that was an extra fee not disclosed and 166£ for a crappy hotel in Levi for a total of 575£ screw up.

All good,only thing is if you will stay more than 3 days you will need to shop at the supermarket,caouye the rsstaurant is good,but very limited menu ! Other thing is transportation is at least &42 euros or more to the city center each way!! But the hotel is very good ,staff is very nice and rooms are spacius with kitchens!!👍👌 Another good thing is they have all the activigies availables fof you👍🙏 Thanks for everything!!

Friendly receptionist and good breakfast The staff is the highlight of the property. The rooms are not heated enough and there is no lift. The breakfast was fresh. The location is away from Rovaniemi airport and city.
