Hotel Merian Rothenburg

This is a clean, quiet hotel, about 10 minutes (foot) from the city centre. The hotel offers breakfast with vegan optionsan, otherwise no restaurant on the ground. Other facilities such as fitness rooms, a minibar, washing service, or similar have not been provided. Sometimes we ask strange questions, such as, “You are alone; why do you want a Kingsize bed?” or “You stay with us two nights. Do you want us to clean the room in this way?” The latter is certainly a remainder of the Covid time, but at €130/Nacht I find it obvious that I can choose the type of bed without having to justify the choice. In addition, I find that the daily cleaning of the room automatically belongs to one of the most price-intensive hotels in the city. However, people in the hotel were nice and premature. There are very few (4-5) hotel own parking places and they were always occupied during my stay. But this is no problem at all, because you can park easily and safely everywhere on the street.

Despite traveling solo, I got one of their Comfort Double Rooms, as I was there for 3 nights and appreciated the roominess. The staff were all just wonderful.....so kind and friendly and helpful. The breakfast...well, it was the absolute best during my 3 week, 5 hotel visit during the Christmas Markets. I was pleasantly stuffed every morning! A recent reviewer gives the room only 3 stars. Okay, I admit that they are not sumptuous, but they are a common type of comfy, simple, German that I love. My room (20) was spotlessly clean and the chairs were comfortable and the bed was VERY comfortable. The bathroom was spotless. My room had no stunning view, but did have WiFi. The whole experience was so memorable for me, and I would not hesitate to stay again.
Hotel Bezold

We were a family of three traveling to Germany for the first time. We pulled up to this quaint hotel and fell in love instantly. The owner, a gentleman, was extremely nice in greeting us. For some reason the hotel did not have our reservation(booking company's fault-Not trip advisor by the way) and they were all booked (our reservation was for three nights). We were devestated to say the least as we had no idea where to go and were foreigners. There was no need to panic. The nice owner offered to bring us around the corner to a relative's hotel where he made sure we were set up for the night and taken care of. The next day we were brought back to the Gasthof Bezold and remained there for the other two nights. He went out of his way to make sure we were ok and well taken care of. He and his relatives treated us like family and we were so thankful. Best time ever! Loved both places and would definitley stay here the next time we visit. We had a room in the back section and were so happy. The area was roomy and the bathrooms big. The beds were comfortable and the place so pretty and quaint. Breakfast was awesome as well. Close to everything and a reasonable price. It will be our home away from home anytime we go back to that area.
Akzent Hotel Schranne

Hotel with family management very comfortable to visit the beautiful city of Rothemberg. Although it is near the walls (a few meters from the entrance there is one of the stairs that allows direct access to the walk on the city's defence walls) it is very close to the central square. Beside the walls, at less than 100 mt there is a large parking that solves every problem for those traveling in car. Clean and good rooms. Medium breakfast. The only neo when we asked to leave the baggage after breakfast (service that every hotel, even the smallest, offers ,also to release the room first) we were asked several times to leave them in the car, But at the end they allowed us to leave them in a office.

Nice little hotel in Rothenburg just a five minute walk to the central square. The rooms were bright and clean. Each morning a delicious breakfast was provided. Checkin is between 3:00 and 6:00 pm. If your travels have you arriving after 6:00 pm, I would advise notifying the hotel. We arrived at 7:00 pm due to a train disruption that delayed us by 1 hour. I called ahead and an employee was waiting to check us in. I was told that after 8:00 pm, they leave the room key in a little vault by the front door but you need to email or call them in advance to arrange it and obtain the vault password. In the evenings, you can enter and leave the hotel using the door to the Beirgarten in the back of the hotel.
Top Hotel Goldenes Fass

Ideally located in front of the old town, really just a short way. Old building without lift, but we had also only a small baggage for a short time, the room in 2.OG under the roof but also easily accessible directly over the stairs. The room is fresh, we very much liked the pattern tape that is also found on the back wall of the TV furniture. Air conditioning did not need, heating doesn't work. The shower is even very large. Totally very clean. Despite the street location perfectly quiet. It seems all generous and not pressing narrow/small as well as recently renewed. The lady of the hotel was super friendly and helpful, even wishes were fulfilled at the excellent breakfast. We have felt quick and well here in a short time and can really recommend everyone in this hotel. In particular where Rothenburg with its museums and shops, unfortunately, has a lot to offer without Christmas market. Note: Our stay included night stay with breakfast, so we cannot judge everything - but our conclusion = a absolute golden hit and we are happy to come back.
