We booked a table for 5 for lunch as visiting Cragside. It wasn’t required as it was only us and a couple. Initial service was fine and not too long a wait for them to take the order but the length of wait for the food was terrible. No sign of the waiter to get more drinks so we got them from the bar next door ourselves. As for the food, when it did eventually arrive it was pretty good but it doesn’t make up for the long wait.

Pros: Car park - free Friendly Staff - always helpful Breakfast - tasty Cons: Room - it was dusty in places, one window was open which meant traffic could be heard (although we didn't try to shut it, there was a cobweb over the gap), the radiator must have been broken as it was way too hot (we tried turning it down), therefore we needed the window open! The carpet was coming up near the entrance to the bathroom and the door kept catching on it. The paint was peeling near the door frame. The shower had hardly any pressure and the temperature wasn't always easy to control. When my partner went in first, he said there was a hair in it. On the surface, the room appeared nice, but unfortunately it was just the surface. We didn't sleep well because of the heat of the room and then the noise from outside in the morning. Dinner Availability: We were told when we first got there, that because of Christmas, they had forgotten to do a food order and therefore some things were not available. We were then given alternative places to eat. We didn't try to eat our dinners there, but just thought it was worth pointing out as it's not something that gives a good first impression. This place has a lot of potential, but unfortunately at the moment it doesn't live up to it.

Mixed on this one. Stayed in a family room but our teen kids couldn't come and I'm pleased because their sofa bed was terrible and I know they would have been complaining all night. Our bed was lovely however, unusual warm weather had the rooms clammy and the fan in the room rattled so had to turn that off to sleep. Possibly the worst night sleep I've had. Rooms are spacious and clean enough. Bathroom was a let down. If you like to sanitise your body in the shower, then great because the water is scalding, the glass shelf above the sick taps are to close so no cold water either just luke warm or hot. Cracks in the sink have been fixed so just doesn't look nice. Breakfast was great, good quality and very filling. Village is lovely, was a relaxing little trip.

Came over from Spain for a wedding, stayed at The Queens Hotel. Fabulous little bar & Hotel, we stayed in room 3 on 1st floor, very spacious with en-suite, bed very comfy, room very clean & fresh, large windows giving a lovely natural light, staff very lovely and attentive, breakfast to die for and management very friendly. Would deffo recommend it and will certainly stay here again, village beautiful and picturesque, thank you for a lovely few days away!

Had a really enjoyable family meal here last Saturday night. The young lady that was serving us (sorry I didn’t catch your name) was so lovely, thank you for your fabulous service! We enjoyed a main meal each and of course had to have a dessert! The food was tremendous. A very enjoyable evening, we will definitely be returning here soon for food.

We found the staff to be extremely helpful and friendly. The room was very clean, comfortable and spacious. The breakfast was excellent with a wide choice to suit all tastes. We will certainly be staying there again in the near future. Very good value for money, highly recommended.

Warm welcome from friendly staff, comfy bed in a large, well appointed room. Walls and curtains needed a dusting though. Food ranged from delicious (evening mains and pud) to barely ok (breakfast, no tea, no welcome, longlife OJ, poorly cooked).
