We were there for the first time and have already booked for the summer. The child care is great, we had a hard time getting our daughter out. The food in the restaurants was consistently delicious and the service staff were very professional. The location is great, you can go in all directions and do something. The spa area is one of the most beautiful we have experienced so far, and we have already experienced several hotels in this category. So the stay was simply perfect, we didn't miss anything.

We had our family Christmas here. Besides the nice design of the hotel and the clean rooms, there is nothing good about this place. The service here was unfriendly, slow, and disorganized from the start of our booking through check out. The staff seems to be mainly comprised of grumpy trainees. They also don’t seem to speak German or English very well, which understandably makes it difficult to provide good service. The painful experience started with the booking process. Our group wanted a block of 6 suites. The reservations team took 7-9 days to respond between each email, sometimes only after me following up. In the week leading up to our stay, the team was a bit more responsive, but in general they made it needlessly difficult to organize our stay with them. When we arrived, we didn’t even get a “hello” from the reception. The keys were shoved in our face and no info or help was offered (no info about breakfast, where the facilities were, no offer of help with our luggage). Except for the breakfast, the food is overpriced, the selection is not great, and taste-wise, the food was pretty bland and unmemorable. One night in da Mario, we waited 20 mins to get our leftovers packed, and we ended up just leaving as it seemed the staff had totally forgotten about us. Another night in the Brasserie, the staff seemed very annoyed to serve us - to be fair it was busy that night, but our group felt unwelcome and uncomfortable there. They’ve overpriced a lot of their food and drink; make sure to bring your own water bottles or you’ll be stuck paying 7,90€ for 0,5L water. One night we asked for two liters of water delivered to the room; the bill including service charge and tip was nearly 40€ 😄 The last little treat from their staff came today: due to illness, we needed to late cancel two of our spa reservations. When we canceled, the spa generously offered to let us cancel free of charge. However, after we left, their team emailed us to let us know nevermind, we would have to pay after all.

All in all nice resort with an interesting location on the Ostsee coast. Nice architecture and comfortable rooms, offers spa program, boat renting, has a nice restaurant and bar. It would get better rating if not prone to incidents with customers. You may end up being truly frowned upon if you arrive to breakfast lately or if you enjoy it too much and stay too long and approach the time when the breakfast ends. Usually an older blonde, thin lady wearing a medical protection mask shows up frowning and warning you about your 'misdemanor'. Also, an senior male receptionist (called Uwe, I think) insisted on paying accomodation fee although it was already paid (prepaid by a tourist agency which did the booking for the room). Upon he was politely asked to check with the manager, he simply said "No." I was shocked by such a reaction, as it was impossible to reach hotel manager in such a high-end (or supposed to be a high-end) resort! Only after his more approachable colleague, Ms. Carrillo Gomez interventioned, a senior staff member was somehow found and the matter luckily resolved in the last minute for me to catch the train for returning home... So a word of advice: 1) Do not pre-pay for the room, you may be scammed into trying to pay twice 2) If you do, print out the invoice and remind the staff tah you paid for the room every day 3) Avoid dealing with Mr Uwe 4) Wash out the bitternes of possible hostile interactions at the hotel bar

First of all, the positive: The breakfast and the spa area are still fantastic! The fact that you are not informed about the absolutely exorbitant prices of €19.00 per day for an outdoor parking space (!), even though you as a guest inquired about the various parking options when checking in, is a disgrace! The fact that not a single syllable was lost over the day and night and with the loud noise of the digging work is also a profound insight. The hotel was max. 1/3 full, we could certainly have found a quieter room without 24 hours of noise! The Long Island Ice Tea and the Pornstar Martini in the hotel bar had absolutely nothing to do with the cocktails they are known as - absolutely undrinkable! The hotel still lives by its name, which is also reflected in the fact that no position is taken on critical reviews on various review portals. You probably don't need it.

We have now stayed at the hotel 6 times in the last 5 years. Unfortunately, I have to say that the hotel has lost its shine. Everything has become very characterless and in some places unloving. There are only a few permanent staff left who made the hotel what it once was. Apart from that, everything is just designed to serve customers. The pool has had a green tint in some places since last year. It seems that the green tint has not been removed for a year. Breakfast has no structure, there is no one there to show you where you sit. So you have to find your own table, good luck with that with the crowds. Parking is a disgrace at 18 euros per day and the prices in the restaurants are also mercilessly overpriced.

My daughter and I spent 6 days in the Hohe Düne. I actually like the hotel, the furnishings and also the breakfast. I also like a lot of the staff, BUT: if it's raining and you're there with a 6 year old child, there's just nothing to do. There is not a varied program like in other hotels, no crafts etc... Children and Hohe Düne just don't fit together. You're not even allowed to drink a cappuccino in the spa area 30 minutes before the children's time, you won't be served even 15 minutes before the end of the children's time or you'll be told that the time will be up in 15 minutes. Unfortunately in a tone that I absolutely dislike. The Hohe Düne is now one of the most expensive hotels on the Baltic Sea, but unfortunately prices and quality no longer match. The food in the restaurants is rather average. There are no snacks in the Admirals Family Club as offered on the website. Short trip yes, but for longer trips you should go to the Steigenberger in Heringsdorf.

The hotel was very busy during our stay on a weekend in November. How the hotel team managed the rush was impressive. Our individual requests for housekeeping and technology were also taken care of promptly. You are certainly used to a lot of guests in this house and everything has been tried and tested. But at the moment the opposite is clearly happening in many other areas. A “highlight” was the breakfast. This is served at two times that can be selected in advance, with everything closed in between to prepare everything for the second round. It was a pleasure for us to watch all of this. But it's certainly not for everyone. The breakfast menu itself was huge, as was the restaurant area (brasserie). It's a big house, but it also has a lot to offer. And so we gave up beautiful Warnemünde for one day and preferred to use the options in the house. Even in winter, we think the really beautiful marina residence is worth a trip.
