It’s amazing how a few employees can make or break a business. In this case the employees here break a business. The location was convenient off the highway. As we drive up under the canopy, late in the evening, we see two people standing outside the door (next to the no smoking sign) smoking. The man, wearing black shorts, black t-shirt, black vest and black tennis shoes rudely shouts over to us asking if we were looking for a room. We replied that we have a reservation. He loudly huffs, rolls his eyes and clearly wasn’t happy that we interrupted his cigarette break. We all go inside and he sets his cigarette and lighter down on the counter where we are signing our paperwork. He never welcomes us or acknowledges that we are choice members. James quickly had us sign our registration paperwork, told us our room number and was headed back out the door. No Wi-Fi information, breakfast? Heck, we don’t even really know if he worked here with the lack of choice hotel attire and identification. We went back to our car and we were out there about 15 minutes and he was still outside smoking when we had to go through their smoking area to get to the door. Another guest pulled up as we walked in and she encountered the same experience as we did. When we arrived at our suite on the third floor we discovered it was a sauna. The air conditioner was completely turned off and it was 84 degrees! (see photo). It took so long to cool down so that we could even sleep. At 10 am it was finally down to 69 degrees. The rooms were large, clean and comfortable. The bed was supposed to be a king, but it was a queen but it was comfortable and once it started to cool down we sleep well. It was difficult to watch TV in the bedroom because it was so far away from the bed. There wasn’t a stand in the room for your suitcase. It was pointless to call downstairs to the front desk for any of these issues because no one was at the front desk and it was midnight. It wasn’t going to get resolved. The bathroom was nice and spacious. The shower had good water pressure but nowhere to put your shampoo and things. There was only one garbage can and that was in the bathroom. The kitchenette was nice and the refrigerator and freezer was a nice size. They provided a toaster and a coffee maker; however there were no outlets on the counter to plug these items in. (see photo). Also at the table and along that wall, there were no outlets to plug a laptop into. There were basically no outlets to plug into anywhere in this room. We probably missed breakfast, if there was a breakfast not knowing what time it was. My husband went down for coffee and it was empty. He mentioned it to the lady at the desk and she said she would get more. We came back down 30 minutes later to check out and there still wasn’t any coffee. She said she was too busy to do coffee because too busy with checkouts. She also didn’t have any identification on and when my husband first spoke to her he wasn’t even sure if she
