Property Description
The Saline Cabin in Rose, Oklahoma is a newly remodeled cabin with every modern update a guest might desire, nestled in the beautiful foothills of the Oklahoma Ozarks. Named for the historic Saline District of the Cherokee Nation, it was one of the most natural resource-rich and affluent areas of the Cherokee Nation in Indian Territory before Oklahoma statehood.
For guests seeking a quiet getaway, its location along an artesian spring guarantees relaxation. Hidden away by a small valley, the cabin backs up to the prairie and faces a wooded area that welcomes deer, squirrels and other wildlife, including Sandhill Crane that frolic in the creek — all just a few short steps from the front door!
But the creek isn't only for our wildlife friends. We provide floaties for the kids, lawn chairs, a charcoal grill, picnic tables, beach towels, and plenty of parking to host family get-togethers, class reunions, team hot-dog roasts, company team-building exercises, etc. The clear, pristine water is ideal for families with small children as the creek is no more than three to four feet deep. There are even multiple swimming holes stretching along five acres of the property!
At night, build a fire and roast marshmallows while the sound of cicadas fills the air and catch fireflies on the backdrop of the most breathtaking stars in the darkest night sky with no light pollution nearby.
There is no shortage of experiences for outdoor explorers searching for fun in the sun or adventure nearby. Attractions include historical sites like the Cherokee Nation's historic Saline Courthouse Museum, only a half-mile away from the cabin. It's also where the artesian spring that flows in front of the home originates. Then visit the Battle of Locust Grove Civil War site in nearby Locust Grove. There, you'll also find the Willard Stone Museum, the Rural Oklahoma Museum of Poetry, and Magic Showplace Theater. Then dine at the regional favorite Country Cottage Restaurant or grab a latte or sandwich at the always hospitable Wonder City Coffee.
Saline Cabin is close to some of Oklahoma's most incredible outdoor activities. For those wanting to stay within a 20 to 30-minute drive, try Natural Falls State Park near Colcord, Rocky Ford State Park, the Illinois River or Lake Hudson. Or, in less than an hour, visitors can be on Grand Lake near Jay, Langley or Grove, on Lake Tenkiller at Keys, Spavinaw State Park or Lake Eucha. OR — stop by one of the many historical and cultural sites in Tahlequah and Park Hill.
If the great outdoors aren't calling your name, Saline Cabin is centrally located between northwest Arkansas and Tulsa — the two best metro areas Oklahoma and Arkansas have to offer.
When it's time to retire for the evening, prepare a meal in the open concept living/kitchen/dining area in Saline Cabin with brand new Samsung appliances. Then gather the family on the sectional sofa, which visitors can arrange to create the relaxing experience you desire. Take in a movie on the 71-inch TV before retiring to the primary bedroom, which features a queen-sized bed with extra pillows for extra comfort. The second bedroom is a bunk bed with a full-sized mattress on the bottom bunk and a twin-sized mattress on the top bunk. (kids only on the top bunk, please!)
Small pets are allowed, but please disclose size and type in advance. Also be aware that there are two Great Pyrenees dogs that watch over the cattle herd and roam the area, and they may be frequent visitors.
Tucked inside the sectional storage are more than a dozen board games, blankets and extra supplies. An LG wash tower/dryer is in the laundry room, with laundry soap and more. Please feel free to email us with any questions. We pride ourselves on our property and want you to feel at home during your stay! Thank you for considering a stay with us!
**** IMPORTANT: The cabin is on the edge of a working farm in a rural area. Please be prepared to see AND experience rural living once you leave the home and begin exploring outside the gated yard. Depending on the season you visit, that may include (but not be limited to) bugs, flies, ticks, spiders, wasps, bees, possums, hoot owls, skunks, buzzards and even coyotes late at night. (but never all at once!) Don’t worry, none of it should alarm you. We keep the house stocked with bug spray and directions on how to remove and/or treat any bug or tick bites. It’s all part of living in the country. :-)
There are also Black Angus cattle and free range chickens on other parts of the farm, so if you’d like to arrange a visit or purchase farm fresh eggs or fresh beef, steaks, ribs, etc., please contact your host about adding onto your package! ****

If you want the country setting with time to just sit by a creek and relax, this is the place. There are things to do in the area, but we just sat by the creek and played dominoes, cooled off in the creek, made a fire at night and watched the stars. The house is very well stocked with everything you need to cook. The bathroom is small, but everything works as it should, nice water pressure. The dogs are friendly and love attention, but they do bark at night since that is their job to guard. It didn’t last all night, just as night fell.

Quiet escape. Lovely stream right at the house! Adorable, and slightly ornery, energetic pups visit daily! The stars, the nature… it’s everything you may want to just escape for a bit.

Great stay!
We enjoyed our stay! Amanda is a wonderful host. We enjoyed walking around the property and the sweet pups that are around. Sitting on the front porch with the creek and the quiet was so nice. The home had everything we needed!

Fantastic relaxing family getaway!!
My husband and I took our two kids (ages 5 and 6) for a long weekend and it couldn’t have been better! The cabin has a clean modern interior and it’s located on a working farm. The family’s Great Pyrenees dogs came to visit us each day which my kids loved. We felt like we were off the grid but funny enough, the WiFi and cell reception are great. Since there were no other people around we felt like we had infinite space to walk around. The creek is crystal clear. We went horse back riding an hour away and built fires near the creek in the fire pit. We flew a kite, played a lot of board games, and watched a movie on the huge tv. The hosts made everything so easy and the trip was a great stress reliever. Our kids are asking when we get to go back.

Pick up Puppy
Met breeder halfway to pick up a puppy. Wanted somewhere to stay that was quiet, with yard to walk dogs. This farm was perfect. House has been completely redone on the inside, extra clean and nice. Very relaxing. Also got some great steaks from Amanda.

Birthday Trip
My daughter and I love to travel. We are seniors and don't need a lot of active entertainment.
We seek out quiet peaceful places in beautiful natural settings. This little cabin fulfilled all our hopes.

Quiet
If you enjoy quiet, this little out of the way house will work. It’s a bit rough around the edges so don’t expect luxury. Amanda is great and goes out of her way to make your stay pleasant. The place looks to be a work in progress so it will be interesting to see what she does with it. It needs some rugs, things on the walls to make it feel finished. What is there is super cute! The kitchen is well appointed, which was great.
