Booked for a family birthday meal. Food was good, tasty lamb kofta and a decent roast beef with all the trimmings. The service was hard work, staff just not paying attention, having to ask for a dessert menu, then ask to order them etc… And the service was slow throughout with seemingly little communication between the bar and waiting staff.

We had a very nice lunch at the Cromwell Arms. The staff were friendly and helpful. There was a nice ambiance in the restaurant, which had been refurbished since my last visit. I hope to return soon! If I had one criticism it was that the gents toilets were a bit smelly.

Really nice restaurant with some great dishes on the menu. Definitely recommend beef and fish choices! Although they are on the pricey side, the portion sizes are good. The reward club is worth considering if you become a regular as well. They have good deals and discounts for week days.

Best pub in Romsey. Highly recommended. Service and staff excellent. Beer was good. Pub decor nice. Food was excellent. Can not fault the place. Will definitely be back again. It is a short walk from town centre but if driving has large car park. Pub also close to river.

Stayed for one night while visiting family in the area and it was amazing. Had a meal there as well with the family, the food was very good. We were upgraded which was a nice suprise and everything in the room and breakfast the next morning was very good. Would recommend and stay again

Very friendly and helpful staff. My husband and I were staying two nights as we had a family funeral to attend. The person on reception very kindly upgraded us. Room was comfortable and quiet. Super breakfast with a great selection of cereals, fruit and cooked as well which was included.

Unfortunately there had been a problem in the kitchen so 'roasts were off'. However in the true spirit of a master chef they came up trumps with a roasted lamb shank which was excellent with the meat falling off the bone. The vegetables were tasty too. We didn't fancy afters but had lattes

Stayed one night (wedding anniversary). Our room was clean ,spacious and comfortable but despite reception insisting we take full advantage of complimentary extras we could find nothing other than the usual fayre -tea/coffees/ waters - apart from a bottle of beer to share? Hardly an 'Indulgence room'!. Dinner was disappointing - both main meals were poor. My steak was tough and I sent it back and requested a starter (to save time) which was decent but hardly comparable. Can't anyone cook a decent steak these days? The bar area became very cold and we had to put coats on until we decided to call it a night! Breakfast was very good (different chef I suspect) and much appreciated after previous evening's offering. Cannot recommend and would not return due to poor experience.
