Premier Inn London Romford (Mercury Gardens)
3/541 Reviews
Premier Inn on the east side of Romford Town Centre, just 10 minutes walk away from shops and transport facilities, is perfectly located enhanced by the free parking just requiring registration at reception for the entire stay. Large car park here, that usually fills up and becomes full towards the early evening, so get here early. There is an overflow car park at the parking exit, but the multitude of loose glass fragments laying on the ground is a red flag to parking there. The hotel would benefit from improved CCTV, lighting and patrols there to match the safety of the main car park. There is a large shopping mall and Asda located on the same road a few minutes away. The railway station is an easy short walk over from the town centre. We stayed 4 nights. Arrival after 3pm resulted in a 10 minute wait, pressing the provided buzzer twice, waiting for a member of staff. However, when they arrived, they were indeed friendly and efficient. We was allocated a ground floor room in their separate building located on the other side of the car park. I think we would have preferred a room on this side as it was convenient and quiet. The room was basic but functional. Clean. Very comfy bed and a 4 night perfect Premier Inn sleep. The shower and bathroom was modern and great, shower pressure was over bath and strong. The pillows were quite thin, but Premier Inn provide spare clean pillows from a sealed bag located in the room. However, our spare pillows smelt of sweat and were not sealed. A cleaning issue here. A walk over to reception quickly rectified this issue. No air conditioning here but the room was equipped with a large fan, helpful for the summer nights in Romford. If you would like your room cleaned, between nights, you need to ask reception before 1200 to request this service. We requested this at 0945 between the second and third night. We also reported the defective hair dryer. Neither was serviced and it was another visit to reception to request for between the third and fourth night. This was completed a day later with an apology for the faults here. The towels are fluffy and soft and despite some service failures, towels were always readily available from reception. The hotel is attached to the Liberty Bell Beefeater. We had both breakfast and dinner here without booking. Breakfast is al a carte for cooked options, with a good continental buffet. Staff very friendly, the food was top notch. All food was consistently fresh, perfectly cooked, including all the meats on the mixed grill. Lots of food options nearby in Romford but you cannot beat the convenience of the quality here just steps away from your room. Check out was quick and simple. Overall, sleep, comfort, food are indeed Premier. Cleaning and repair service not so Premier. Only park in the main car park if you can. If needed practically, we will be back to the Premier Inn Mercury Gardens.

This hotel was very hard to locate…. But we eventually managed to get there! There’s no parking! Be aware as this is so inconvenient !so you have to use the BREWERY car park which costs £12 for 24hrs? The actual room was a decent size , matteress was amazing! Bathroom was a good size plenty of towels … and tea making facilities provided but not enough teabags, 2 teabags to be precise!🙄stayed here 2 days , there was no room cleaning, so this was very disappointing! As for the buffet breakfast everything was very overcooked especially the eggs , hash browns where like mash ( crumbling) however there was cereal fresh fruit & juices but the actual cooked foods were terrible (chef needs replacing) & I wouldn’t recommend it at all . There are lots of food outlets nearby so you don’t have to pay for the hotels distasteful breaky! The bar & dining area is pleasant overall the stay was satisfactory but the cost was too high in comparison!
