Rose Garden Palace Roma by Omnia Hotels

Via Veneto Rome|1.65km from Statua di Nerva
We enjoyed a 3 night stay at Rose Palace. The front desk gave us tired travelers a warm welcome that made us relax immediately. Our room overlooked the back of the American Embassy with guards stationed outside 24/7 so it was definitely safe. The hotel is a little off the beaten path from the usual touristy spots in Rome but in a very quiet area. The room was very clean. We had 3 in our room and the 3rd person had to sleep on a full size pull out couch. It was comfy for a pull out (you couldn’t feel the bar under the mattress) but unless you put up the bed every day the only place to sit were the beds. It had a small fridge and the bathroom was updated but limited on counter space around the sink. The buffet breakfast was geared toward a variety of tastes. Scrambled eggs, a variety of pastries, orange juice, fresh fruit, yogurt, cereal, cheese, meat, etc. When the weather was nice we enjoyed sitting outside in the garden. There is a tiny grocery store called Co-op around the corner where you can buy the basics. Also on the next block is an ATM in the alcove of the bank entrance that seemed secure to use. Reading older reviews we thought there was a restaurant in the hotel serving dinner but it turned out to just be a small bar. So we walked a couple of blocks north and ate at Cesarina and enjoyed a good meal and friendly staff. There were a lot of other restaurants to pick from in a 2-3 block radius. The ones on Via Vittorio Veneto appeared to be more expensive than the ones northeast of the hotel. There is a taxi stand a couple of blocks away and we used both Uber and inTaxi for rides back to the hotel.

Let me talk about the advantages first: The hotel location is very good, in the city center, it is quiet. It is next to the Trajan Market site, next to the road is the ruins of the ancient Roman city and the Piazza Venezia, and the Colosseum is within 500 meters. These attractions are tired, you can go back to the hotel to rest and recharge some energy before going out. Breakfast is on the top floor. The hotel is not on the side of the road. The front desk is always on duty. The personnel entering and leaving are clear at a glance. There is a sense of security. The room was soundproofed and seemed quiet, with no noise at night. The front desk and restaurant service staff were welcoming and friendly, and the check-in and check-out were very fast. They called for a taxi when we left. The breakfast type is slightly monotonous, almost the same, but the quality is very good, except for vegetables, there is everything, coffee can be à la carte, delicious, and worthy of praise. Few Chinese people live in this hotel, almost all Western tourists. The hotel is old and the rooms are a bit dated but clean. The lobby is luxuriously decorated, simple and elegant, warm and pleasant. Worse: because it is an old hotel, the elevator is very small and can only accommodate 2, 3 people. The flush switch in the bathroom of the room where we lived was a wrench type, and it was inconvenient to pull it back after flushing. Heating and air conditioning are not powerful, and the noise is high. The TV won't turn on, and nothing happens when I press the remote control. I asked the waiter to open it once, and didn't come out the next day. I simply didn't watch TV again. Overall good, recommended.

The hotel experience is first-class, the hotel also sent a restaurant recommendation list very intimately, I have tried several restaurants recommended by the hotel, very good. The front desk lady Charlotte was very warm and friendly, took the initiative to help book the restaurant, book a taxi, hope the hotel can see her excellent.

This is not a five star hotel. I have no idea how it got that designation. The place is ”fine,” but it sets itself up for failure by claiming to be something it isn't. Grafitti covers the front of the buildings adjacent to it. The lobby is tiny, and we were constantly jostled by other guests and service people as we tried to check in. The rooms are ok, but not luxurious. The elevator is tiny. With two people it felt claustrophobic and unsafe. We had ”adjoining” rooms on the top floor with a ”private” garden. However, it wasn't at all private. They hung a sign on the door, saying, ”this garden is reserved for these two rooms,” but they left the door open. They literally served breakfast to people at a table immediately outside the door of one of the rooms in a walkway to the garden. The privacy was a joke. The ”garden” was unkept and the furniture in it unusable. Breakfast itself was great, and the service staff was very helpful and attentive. Honestly, it is an ok inn, but definitely not a 5 star hotel. Perhaps, we would have enjoyed it if we had different expectations.

First of all, in love with perfect person Santos in reception. He welcome us with sweets, gave map, where signed most famous places to visit. 5 star for him no doubts. We had room 401 for two girls with 2 beds (no nove view drom the window). There was enough place for both of us. Room was warm enough for end of February. Hotel located 5 minutes walk to Colleseo. 20 minutes walk to Trevi and Pantheon. 1 hour walk to Vatican. Minus in the room- soooooo loud toilet 🙊 Reception is working 24/7, and we had early check out, receptionist called for taxi and it came in 2 minutes. Note, that taxi drivers almost don't speak english. Hotel don't offer breakfast, but there are a lot of bars and restaurants just half a minute to walk. I recommend.
