Hotel Major Aventinus

Aventino Piramide
Absolutely a dream stay....wonderful family-run hotel, a short walk from the circus maximus, and 20 min walk to the coliseum, and forum. Peacefully situated up on the Aventine hill, with lovely gardens around it. The perfect spot to escape to after a busy sightseeing day. Delicious pastries and espresso in the morning, and rooms were comfortable and quiet. For the best, peaceful stay within the city of Rome but not overrun with tourists, this is what your soul needs!
Hotel Santa Prisca

The location is perfect - easy access by public transport to the historic centre of the city, and within 10 minutes walk you have the Testaccio district - full of small restaurants with excellent food at reasonable Italian prices - not inflated for tourists as in some other areas. The hotel is sparkling clean, has lovely staff, is quiet, and the cost of a stay is very reasonable. Air con is quiet and efficient, not lethal, the wi-fi excellent. The rooms could sometimes do with a bit of renovation, and if you're overweight the shower might be a squeeze. My only real problem was with the venerable old hair dryer - it's hopeless. But then in Rome in July you can dry your hair more quickly by walking down the road or by sittiing out in the beautiful garden. Nothing beats having a glass of wine on the terrace of the Santa Prisca as the sun goes down!

Best kept secret in Rome. Great location and breakfast. Super clean. Lovely lovely people. I would not stay another hotel again if I return to Rome.

Trastevere
Very nice hotel , convenient location in Trastevere ! Walking distance to restaurants and bridges. I didn’t try the breakfast since one morning we had tickets to the Vatican with breakfast included. I recommend the early tickets to the Vatican with the breakfast. The staff is very friendly and nice. I would stay here again.

It looks like a newly renovated hostel. The interior facilities are really clean, and the staff are really friendly. Because it shares an entrance with another large building, you can see a large garden. For only 5 euros, you could eat as much fruit, various breads, coffee, and milk as you wanted!
Aventino Guest House

Aventino Piramide
This hotel was one of unforgettable hotel in my recently trips. I have to say it is located closed by Colosseum and is in a lovely community with gate which is safe. Across of street, there is a nice café for breakfast. Staff are nice. Guest house provides free coffee, yogurt, and hot water. As following, it was my experience.. 1) The hotel building is under maintenance (I don't know how long for the project), workers starts working around 8am. 2) ***There was no HOT SHOWER (I mean it ACTUALLY HOT) in our room ; basically, it was closed to body temperature (No steam during shower). For me, a girl, it was too cold to take shower. (Only 55 F degree at night ) We only took shower within 5 mins. 3) Another problem was, receptionist only at site worked from 8am - 2pm. Therefore, when we found out no hot shower, we had to wait until next day and left a note on the desk before we left hotel to start our schedule. (BTW, we also made an intl phone call to make sure hot shower working normally) 4) Wifi signal was too weak to connect it in our room, even router is installed outside of our room. Luckily, I bought e-sim unlimited data plan. Therefore, poor wifi connection wasn't a really bit deal for us. I cannot speak other facilities in other's room or other travelers' experiences. All I mentioned are based on my experience at this time.
