Hotels in Colosseo, Rome

Very nice surprise for the location and the neighborhood, we are 200m from the Colosseum and in front of the San Clemente church. I had a balcony set by windows which made me dizzy with a total view of the Colosseum, very beautiful memory. Small less the hotel has a dreadful modern architecture, but from inside it passes. The rooms are well equipped, the reception is very attentive and spoke perfect French or English. Breakfast takes place on the ground floor with a view of the street, you are served as much as you want but the service is done behind a plexiglass, tea, coffee, eggs, bacon, sausages, etc. I recommend the pancakes with maple syrup but the coffee is really disgusting, it's freeze-dried powder in the machines. There is a bar on the top floor, open from noon until midnight and the pool was not authorized for this beginning of October, too bad it was still 25 degrees! Finally I took advantage of the proximity of the Colosseum I went there very late or very early to have it all to myself. Magical moment !

The location is very good. Just opposite the Colosseum is an old house, but the room has a modern design. The breakfast is rich and delicious. The top Michelin restaurant can see the Colosseum. The staff is very good. Stayed for two nights. Satisfied.

First of all I'd like to say reception was very nice and helped us plan our places to see. In that sense it was a fabulous experince. Thats where it ended. We arrived late morning and I was surprised at how the lobby? looked. But ok I looked past the coldness of it all. I was then informed of a city tax that i had to pay in cash, I seemed to have read about it somewhere. So I was ok with that. Then the shocker. I booked with Hotels.com and searched using 2 people as it was my husband and I. Well something got lost in the universe somewhere because (apparently) it showed a SINGLE room. I had to pay another &153 for the 5 nights we stayed. Now ok its fine, but the hotel knew from the beginning that it was 2 of us because I arranged with them to have a little something in the room for my husband seeing it was his birthday. ”My husband and I” were mentioned many times in the multiple emails that went back and forth. Dont you think this should have been mentioned before hand. What if I was on a tight budget and had all my money accounted for and need that extra for emergency. Many people travel like that. That left such a bad taste in my mouth towards the hotel. Ok lets move on. We are then taken next door. The reception is in another part of the building. You have to walk outside to get to your room. Which is in what seems to be an apartment building. It was so confusing to me. We open the door to see the 3 garbage cans for the building in the foyer area. WHAT? So everytime you came or left you passed these huge garbage recepticles. Its freezing in there, it was warmer outside. Im trying to think positive. The smallest elevator to mankind is there waiting for my husband and only 2 bags. Thats all that fit. The rest of our bags has to be carried up 2 flights of stairs. Im seeing doors all with different door knobs with welcome mats, yep its an apartment building. We arrive to a glass door with Hotel Caravaggio written on it, but its on the opposite side. Im still confused. You need a code to unlock the door. You then arrive into a sitting area with 3 small bistro tables and a buffet. The buffet table that you see loaded with food in their advertised photos. No food was ever spotted there. He instructs us to open the door to make sure we know how to use the key. He helps us roll the bags and leaves. Why not because no tour of the rooms is neeeded, the room is barely big enough to fit us and the bags, If I had brought the extra bag I intended we'd be crawling over everything. And not enough space to place your clothes, we lived out of our suitcases for 5 days. As you can see from the pictures I posted that its beyond small. I was told I was lucky they had a last large room for us. Well Thank God (sarcatic). 3 hangers for 2 people. Bed was hard as a rock. The mini bar(that they advertise) was a small fridge underneath the desk that had a laminated card that had pictures of pop cans with prices on it. WHAT? The shower was so small my husband ba

I enjoyed my stay. The room was nice, neat and clean and an adequate size, though not spacious. Staff are helpful and friendly and the breakfast is great. The location is also wonderful, located in a square with a fountain and a huge selection of restaurants, cafés, gelaterias, bakeries etc closeby. The only downside was noise- from the lift, and other rooms and an alarm on the last night

We stayed in room 20 for 4 nights. It has space for 3 people, a queen bed plus a single. The room and hotel in general were extremely clean. The room has a small refrigerator, a safe, a place to hang clothes on hangers (but not a closed closet) and small bathroom. The shower would be tight for a large person but we had no problem, and the water did *not* escape from the shower to wet the whole bathroom the way some hotels showers do. There is an air conditioning unit which worked but had limited range in terms how how cool the room might get (not sure about heat). Breakfast is included. There was cereal, yogurts, eggs, sausages, coffee, tea, juices. I believe they offered other cooked options but we did not partake so i don’t really know. The day we left, we stored our luggage in their luggage room and they were kind enough to refrigerate some food for us that we were planning on taking home. The front desk is manned 24x7 and they ask that you drop your key at the desk when you leave the hotel for security purposes. The front desk was very helpful with providing maps with directions and calling cabs. The hotel is located in central Rime, about 10 minutes from the Roma Termini train station, 10 minutes from piazza Venezia and Trajan’s column as well as the victor emmanuel monument, about 20 minutes from the Jewish ghetto, and 15 minutes from the trevi fountain. There is a lift in the hotel that handles max 2 people. There are many bars and restaurants in the streets surrounding the hotel, and we felt very safe walking around after 10 pm. The street the hotel is located in is a small one-way street, and could be a little loud if the windows are open, due to the bars and restaurants nearby. We would certainly stay here again.

This hotel was perfect for sightseeing in Rome! Booked for my partner’s birthday and the hotel staff made this extra special by providing a room with a balcony with a view of the Victor Emmanuel II Monument. Bed was huge and very comfortable, air-con worked great and the staff were extremely helpful - particularly on our last day storing our luggage when we checked out in the morning and organising taxi’s to Ciampino in the evening. If you are prepared to walk everywhere this hotel is a great option, within walking distance to all the major tourist attractions with the furthest about 40mins to Vatican City and Trastevere. It was not an issue for us but as stated in other reviews the open-plan design and lack of privacy between the bedroom and shower/sink area may be uncomfortable for some visitors. Overall a great hotel which I’d highly recommend!!

I chose this hotel based on many positive reviews from many platforms. And I experienced all of the positive reviews. And for the first time I would recommend hotel to my friends and families/relatives. The two rooms were the best : the view, size and amenities. To my surprise, the minibar provided as complimentary. Breakfast : the best breakfast I ever had after more than 30 years traveling for both leisures/family and business trips in Indonesia, Asia and Europe. On top of the buffet menus, we were offered breakfast that personalised for our needs/tastes. Now, two weeks after we left the hotel, my wife and daughter keep telling me about to comeback again to Rome just because this hotel …. All the staffs were helpful and almost excellent. Keep the good work guys, as this hotel’s experiences were the oasis in many disappointments about Rome. One small note : It was a little bit difficult for me to find this hotel, and taking up two large luggage up to the hotel lobby was a little struggle

The terrain is good, the breakfast is mediocre, and the bathroom tub is scratched. The glue is black. Only blankets and no quilts.

The front desk grandfather service is particularly good... I will introduce the best restaurants and tell you how to get to the tourist attractions... The single room is relatively small, after all, the price of the city center in Rome is very large, the room will not be particularly large! Personally like it, the night is very quiet, 18 minutes away from the central railway station, but so much praise is true, the room is very comfortable, there is a platform upstairs to sit and watch the scenery, drink a little drink, are great The breakfast is also very rich, the grilled bacon is very popular, and the sugar-free yogurt is also very good!
