This is the most luxurious hotel on this trip. When we booked a 3-person room, we should have directly opened the connecting door of the two adjacent double rooms and turned them into suites for us. The area of a standard room is not large. The hotel provides welcome champagne, handwritten welcome cards, and ACQUA DI PARMA for bath products. The bed is relatively comfortable, the bath towels are thick and soft, and the mini bar has a rich variety. Two free bottles of mineral water and sparkling water are provided daily. Opposite the hotel is a military-related government department, so there are soldiers on hand throughout the day, which makes me feel instantly safe. Of course, the curtains may not be fully open during the day, because it is too close to the office building opposite. The location is very good. It is only ten minutes' walk from Castel Angel and Vatican City. It is very comfortable to run along the river in the morning. The only thing that is not ideal is that there are too few types of breakfast, each person has a fixed set, and there are a small amount of self-service fruits, yogurt and drinks.

The location of the hotel is very good, you can walk anywhere, the bar downstairs is also good, the toiletries are all my favorite brands, there are two flavors of shower gel to choose from! The decoration is very avant-garde, but it is not exquisite enough, the materials used are not very good, and it feels a bit broken, but the hotel has only been open for a few months. Although the room has a terrace, there is no view. The staff is 100% very enthusiastic. There is a pica shop near the hotel that has rice gelato, personal preference, super delicious!

Where I stay when traveling is as important to me as where I am going. That is the difference between being a tourist and a traveler. When I travel, I search out family run bed & breakfasts and or small boutique hotels. Why? The people. People make the difference. On this trip to Rome, I was traveling with my father. I was looking for a small boutique hotel in a quiet location but a location from which all of Rome is easily accessible by walking. I couldn’t have dreamed up a more perfect property than Hotel Monte Cenci. Located on the Via Beatrice Cenci, a quiet location just one block from the Tiber River, and surrounded by gorgeous buildings with window boxes spilling over with geraniums, the Hotel Monte Cenci is a livable work of art. Designed in a historic palazzo this 30-room hotel feels more like a stay in a beautiful private home. Entering from Via Beatrice notice the two story marble lobby flanked by book cases which run the length of the lobby behind the reception desk. You will be greeted as though you are a long friend coming home for a visit. At the south end of the lobby is a magnificent 2 story window that allows light from the lobby to flood into the hotel bar. Just a few steps down from the lobby is a reception room and access to either the elevator to your room or use the stairs. We utilized the stairs. The bedrooms are generous in size with plush bedding, gorgeous ensuite bathrooms (some bathrooms have marble sink tops from historic hotel in Rome), casement triple glazed windows with views onto the surrounding buildings and streets in this quiet enclave. We enjoyed breakfast every morning on the rooftop terrace. In the afternoon the terrace with its lush plantings and awnings is a great place to escape for a quick nap or down time reading a book-also great in the evenings for a glass of wine or an Aperol Spritz. The location is perfect. Every attraction is walkable and the best way, and only way in my opinion, to see Rome is to walk. Rome is an open-air museum full of art and architecture and history. Stroll down streets, take the alley way, follow the delicious scents, and discover a small neighborhood osteria or bar. Shop the shops away from the large tourist attractions. Discover a fountain in a piazza and take the time to see Rome, truly see Rome. The beauty of staying in a small boutique hotel is that the people at the hotel will also share with you their favorite places to eat, shop, sip and walk and share historical tidbits. I cannot find the words to express how wonderful the people at the Hotel Monte Cenci are. They are kind, informative, helpful, funny, welcoming and feel like family. Whether first thing in the morning or late in the evening I looked forward to every interaction with all members of the staff. They make you feel as though you are a family member visiting. Rome is gorgeous. The hotel is beautiful but the people at the Hotel Monte Cenci have beautiful souls that make the stay perfe

Stayed a week over Christmas with my family. We were all sad it didn't do the trick for us. Looks nicer, better in online photos. Everything is just a little shabby. Furniture in the lobby is worn, indoor public spaces are smaller than they appear on the website, breakfast room is a bit dorm style/institutional feeling. The breakfast that goes with it was adequate but not in any way remarkable. Actual guest room was a decent size and personally I far prefer the wood/laminate floor to carpet for cleanliness reasons. And the room was very clean so that is a huge plus. The bathroom was also clean but again a bit shabby around the edges. Grout needed a redo and the plastic shower surround was pretty tired ‘70s. Linnen on the bed was not super great and really hated the shiny polyester bed cover. Also personally hate any kind of throw or decorative pillows that don’t get cleaned between guests. The room did not bring joy but was adequate. All that said the staff was terrific. Some reviewers have complained of surliness but we had a good experience. Everyone was friendly and helpful (including in tracking down a lost bag). Our room key was an ongoing frustration. We were in a family room (two rooms, each with a key pad) and a single door opening into the hallway between the two rooms. There were particular instructions on how to use it. Despite our best efforts we kept needing togo to the desk for help. To their credit they were patient with us, but honestly, it is a messed up system if it needs that much assistance. We could walk everywhere which was great. In summary, I likely would not stay here again. With a bit of an investment this place could be great. It has nice bones. But for now it just didn’t bring joy.

I already knew this charming place and years later I can only confirm the judgment of last time . The most pleasant constants of this Maison are the courtesy , tranquility , cleaning that I advise everyone to spend a spencered holiday. It will be my reference for my next presence in Rome . Thank you
