This hotel is a nice, basic little hotel, in a great location, at a great price. It's in an old building and It's not for people who need a lot of services or a lot of attention. The reception is on the first floor (one floor above the street). They seem to have just a few people that do everything. The staff was polite and provided good recommendations on restaurants, but they are limited on what they provide. They are there from early in the morning until maybe 9 or 10 pm, but there is a phone number where they can be reached. The room was clean and comfortable. The shower was very small (again, an old building). AC worked perfectly. The double paned windows kept the street noise out. I would not hesitate to go back. There is no restaurant/cafe in the building, but the breakfast is provided in a nice little cafe directly across the street. If you don't need your hand held and you are a little adventurous, this hotel is great. Disliked · The only challenge was the very small shower, but in the end, it worked fine.

Good location. Clean rooms with excellent cleaning everyday. Very friendly and welcoming staff. They also gave us good advise and were availeble for any questions. We walked where ever we were going, except the Vertikan City. Highly recommend.

Before we left the UK I checked the Antica Roma ‘s latest reviews and it made me a bit nervous about our stay. I have been happily surprised though and wanted to write a positive review for our experience. We arrived nearly 2 hours before the official check in time and we were welcomed and shown to our room. The decor is an acquired taste but the room was spotless and we had lots of clean towels which have been changed daily, a very comfy bed and plenty of storage. The shower was quirky to say the least but once we worked it out it has been fine. The best thing about this hotel over everything else though is it’s location. We are 5 minutes from the Trevi Fountain, about 8 mins from the Spanish Steps. We walked to the Vatican Museum in about 45 minutes and to the Colosseum in about 25 minutes. The Pantheon is less than 15 minutes away and Piazza Navona about 20. Antica Roma no doubt needs a bit of a face lift but since the building dates back to the 1500s it sort of works. If we come this way again I would happily come back again.

Where do I begin? Old, tired, worn hotel with NO customer service. The entire hotel is very dated, bath towels were so worn they were shredding. I asked for more towels & was told they had to ask the owner, the owner said no. Internet service barely worked. Staff was not helpful at all , seems owner just wants a body at a reception desk part time. No air conditioning in common areas. In short, terrible. Would never recommend.

Arrived Sunday for 4 nights and was very happy with the hotel. We had a triple room on 3rd floor. This was a very large double bed with a kind of camp bed but with a proper mattress on it. Had a view of the very busy Main Street but the double windows mostly kept out the noise apart from the thousands of motor bikes that seem to be there but didn’t cause any issues. Room had good aircon and a handy fridge for drinks. There are many free spring water taps in Rome so you can just fill up your bottles any time. Location is great and some of the main places to visit are not very far away, some like Spanish steps and the Trevor fountain literally less than 10 minutes walk. Restaurants a plenty nearby with Hard Rock Cafe 10 minutes walk away and hundreds of others nearby. Reception were very friendly. Recommend the ice cream bar 20 yards away with morning coffee and croissant only 2 euro. Food and drink in general is expensive but some nearby supermarkets at decent uk prices or less. I would definately stay here again but would want a street facing room. I recommend this hotel

We stayed here for three nights and it is the perfect base for all the attractions in Rome - Spanish steps, Trevi fountain etc. Rooms are comfortable and clean. The hotel oozes old world charm and would thoroughly recommend this place - bravo!

Just returned from a fantastic 7 night stay at Antica Roma. First we were greeted by the owner and later by his wife in this privately owned small 20 room hotel who were friendly and oh so helpful. It was formerly a 1500 monastery with all of Roman charm. Immaculately clean, the room was large and beds comfy—plenty of hot water, even though our room was facing the main street,it was quiet at night. Can’t beat the location close to most major sites and only a mile to the rest. This was our 4th time in Rome and the best location and a Roman feel hotel. Stay if you love a taste of Rome you won’t regret it!

Perfect location, room clean & quiet. Website listed 3 types of breakfast : however, we found that the only breakfast available was a croissant (OR a sandwich), a juice and a coffee/cappuccino that we could have via a voucher, provided by the hotel, in the bar across the street.
