I think that the best word to define this place is "guest house" and not "hotel". The walls between the rooms were so thin that we had problems sleeping during the night because we could hear everything that our "neighbors" were doing. We asked to change the room and fortunately they were comprehensive and changed our room. The mattress was that hard that in the morning we woke up with back ache. The breakfast was not large as they said in the website and it was the small typical b&b breakfast. As a conclusion the staff was kind and if you are looking for a cheap place to stay this is for you.

Three days. Clean small room however it’s just a room. No services at all so if all you want is an inexpensive room this is fine. It is about a 15 minute walk to the Spanish Steps so it’s not too far from sight seeing and shopping. Our AC was a little noisy so that was annoying but otherwise it fit our needs. Don’t count on having breakfast there. It’s basically just coffee and a few rolls. Much better options elsewhere.

What a strange hotel. Located on part of the fifth floor of an old, mixed-use building, it has the look and feel of a youth hostel. It’s accessible by an antique elevator that barely holds two people and requires you to haul your luggage up four or five steps to access it. Our room was tiny and sp**** with a “view” of an interior courtyard. The bed’s top sheet came with dried blood spots and the mattress cover under that was stained, with several long black hairs added for charm. The shower was decent and the breakfast was varied enough to send you out with a full stomach. This is one of those hotels about which you say, “Hey, we only need a bed, right?” It’s absolutely not a place where you want to relax and spend any time soaking up the ambience. It is not “steps away”’from any major historic sites as some descriptions we have read, unless you consider your daily quota of 10,000 steps to be “steps away. “ I you have a choice, choose something else.

I appreciated the front desk staff. They were great! The hotel itself was not exactly up to pare. The towels were stained, there were stained on the pillows and the bathroom wasn't the best. There was a draining of water in the middle of the night, to which we thought our room was flooding but it was just a leak in the bathroom. The checkout process was ahead of time because of the availability of staff but they weren't flexible with us.

Nice little hotel in a very good area of Rome. It was a bit unusual to see a hotel without any sign. But once we have negotiated the entrance to the building and a small lift to the fifth floor, warm welcome awaited us. basically is a cross between a hotel and the Airbnb. But for Rome is very near the main attractions and has felt very safe and very friendly. The rooms are very clean and bed is a very good standard room so change every day and the staff are friendly by Italian standards. Dining area is very small and the breakfast is very limited. But we were happy to put up with that as everything else was great. The staff’s English speaking ability is limited, but they give you all the maps et cetera. Not a hotel in the traditional sense, but a nice place to stay in Rome. That doesn’t cost a bomb.

Ten years after our last visit we pitched up again, this time with family in tow. Sometimes this doesn't work, but the Roma was once again great to us. We were even given the same room as before and Alessandro was still there with the rest of the staff making our stay so fantastic. Location is not far from the Galleria Borghese and the Pincio as well as the Via Veneto for the shoppers in our family... The rooms are reasonable size with good air con and a balcony for looking out into the Roman streets below. Bed v comfortable and breakfast fine (for Italy) with great coffee. Part of the joy for us is the location in an old Roman building, which gives an insight into how the Romans live now. We threw our coins in the Trevi Fountain so a return visit will not take 10 more years...

Lovely little hotel. My wife and I wanted to be close to all the sights, without spending insane amounts of money. Roma Boutique is a great location! 15 minute walk to the Trevi Fountain and Spanish Steps. Colosseum was about a 25 minute walk, but wasn’t overly difficult. All staff were so friendly and welcoming. The room was clean and the breakfast was alright. Once it got going, the air conditioner worked well. There is a small shop downstairs, which was handy, but there was a bigger, slightly better one about 5 minutes up the road. The hotel reception is on level 5 of the building. Be mindful, if you’re travelling as a family, you won’t fit in the lift. This is not a massive issue or the hotel’s fault, but just be aware.
