A gem of a hotel in the heart of Rome. This was my fifth stay at Hotel Locarno (my first visit was back in the summer of 2011, before its renovation), which keeps delivering superb service in a beautiful Roman setting. Even if you don’t stay at the hotel, do come for lunch, dinner or an aperitivo in the garden. Already looking forward to my next stay here.

From the moment we arrived the service was attentive and superior in every way - nothing was too much trouble! We had a wonder day trip up to Villa D’Este organised by the Locarno staff! Beautiful breakfasts each morning in the garden - it was our oasis for 8 days!

This hotel is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. I have never given a bad review. The whole hotel is very old and stuffy. The most important thing is that you have to stand in the bathtub to take a shower. You can't stand steadily in the bathtub and slip at any time. The water leaks all over the floor. The hall is full of water. The shower gel is clumpy and the bath towel is also dirty. The price is too bad! And the sound insulation is too poor. You can hear the conversation in the next room clearly. I don't know how Ctrip got a high score of 4.7! This hotel is not worth 2,000 yuan.

Very nice little boutique hotel. The feeling that you are in an old family estate, and not in a hotel. The bar is beyond praise (the feeling that Hemingway is sitting at the next table) is a pleasant street right around the corner of Piazza Poppolo. Shopping street 10 min walk. Of the minuses: 1) at night it’s sooo noisy near the highway (the hotel prudently offers Birushi) 2) terribly uncomfortable pillows and thin blankets (bed linen is far from 5-star level) 3) sooo small closet! Literally 40-50 cm wide

Amazing stay
We highly recommend Hotel Locarno!
Every member of the staff was cheerful and kind and we were always met with a smile. The location was ideal for walking to restaurants, shopping, and site seeing. The hotel was in immaculate condition and very comfortable. We used the gym daily and were impressed with the weights and machines as well as the free bottled water and Gatorade. We opted to add the breakfast on to our stay and it was fabulous! Cooked to order each morning. The omelettes and French toast were particularly good. With so much to offer and worth every cent, I don’t know why you’d stay anywhere else. Grazie, Hotel Locarno! We’ll be back!
