Both the room and the view outside the window are very relaxing. The location is excellent, right near the Colosseum. In the evening, you can walk to the Roman Forum and the Mercati di Traiano Museo dei Fori Imperiali to enjoy the night view. Other attractions are also within walking distance. A highly recommended place to stay in Rome!

Amazing place to stay, Flaminia is so helpful, she made self check in very easy, got us the room early and was constantly available if needed. Lovely decor, central location, everything you need is in reach. Comfy bed, loads of storage and a very classy looking room! On a busy road but the window blocked out every sound so you get perfect peace! 15 minute walk from Rome termini so really easy to get to. Hairdryer, towels and soap/shampoo etc supplied do you can travel light. Heard people in the area complaining that their rooms in nearby places were awful, nothing like that here, and they had paid considerably more money. Faultless!! Will return to see the rest of Rome next year!! Thank you Flaminia.

Excellent. Stayed four nights and was very happy with our choice. Superior room..Poppea was a really good size. Spacious bathroom with large walk-in shower which was much appreciated. All amenities in apartment. Staff were very helpful and obliging throughout the booking process and while we were there. Arrived drenched by a sudden downpour! Booked directly with the guesthouse and had an airport transfer arranged as well. To keep in mind - It is an apartment not a hotel with reception only between 10am & 2pm. But excellent choice, more space than a hotel room and excellent location close to major attractions

The rooms were great especially the Cleopatra room! Very spacious and very clean. The location was fantastic, literally a 3-5 minute walking distance from the Colosseum, with many restaurants and a coffee bar nearby for breakfast. Flaminia was incredibly friendly, always ready to help and so passionate about her city of Rome which set the tone for a wonderful trip from the very start! Wouldn’t have had our stay any differently and will definitely be staying here again when we next return to Rome (fingers crossed)!

Horrible location owner extremely rude , no help , unreachable over the phone and refused to returned our money. She knows that we did not like the locations and was given the chance to re-list her location. We practically cancelled our reservation within one to two hours on the same day even the 3rd party reach out her.

I lived at the Roman Empire Guesthouse from September 16, 2021 to February 8, 2022, not counting the Christmas period, in the Giulia room. It is a place where it is evident that a large investment was made many years ago, to then abandon it to its fate and not make any renovations. Starting with the good things, we can highlight the location and that the bathrooms are modern. Now let's go to the fun part, it is a place that accepts long stays, I found it in Idealist and I liked it because it said that it was rented only to women. First lie, when I arrived there was a man living in one of the rooms. Also, one of the rooms is reserved for temporary guests, i.e. tourists, so this is not a quiet place to live. Because it is true that you hear very little noise from the street, but you will be able to find out what series the person two rooms over is watching or learn languages through the walls, especially if it is in the wee hours of the morning. Upon arrival, the manager, Flaminia, asked me to give her in cash the city tax (contributo di soggiorno), 35€ for a maximum of 10 nights. To my surprise, a month later, she asked me again for this payment. I looked for information about it because I could not believe that he wanted to take advantage of me so shamelessly. I found official documents stipulating that you cannot pay for more than ten nights in the same year if the stay has been continuous. I let her know and she threatened to report me to the police if I did not pay. In the end I paid every month because in the emails exchanged she had warned me that I had to do so. So if you finally go to live there keep this in mind and make it clear to her that you do not have to pay her this money. In one of the changes of bed linen and towels, the first one was burnt, and the second ones were dirty. I told her and everything was changed the next day, except the towels, which had not been left. I called her to get a solution and she did not show up, but told me to open a closet in the hallway where there was a towel and that they would put them on the next day. The table in the room does not have the table top bolted to the metal structure so it moves. I told them repeatedly and it was never fixed. Maybe you will find the toilet paper cylinder that I put in the hole to keep it from moving. Run, before they read the review, remove it and never fix it. If you go to this room (Giulia) you have to take into account the following. Do you like continuous and loud sounds, as if someone was whispering "mmmm" in your ear and never stopped? If so, this room is perfect for you. Outside on the "balcony" (we'll talk about it now, don't get ahead of yourself) are three air conditioning machines. One of which never stops and when I say never it is never. Sometimes it sounds quieter, sometimes louder, but it never stops. I hope you don't mind sleeping with earplugs, I had to adapt, I got used to the headaches, maybe you can too. Ah yes, the balcony! Do you like ris
