Stayed for 4 nights based on the amazing reviews. The apartments are full of character and so much history in the overall property. Bed was comfy and service great including a comprehensive welcome briefing. A breakfast box is included each day (which is great) but it did get a little boring after 4 days. The area is perfect for anyone looking for a more authentic stay and doesn’t mind walking. We found it ideal for both the Vatican and Colosseum ends of the city. Both within 30-40 mins walk. There was quite a bit of road noise at night so I’d suggest taking some earplugs. We were contacted before our stay suggesting we pre-book a transfer. The transfer was excellent however we then found out a taxi/Uber would have been almost half the price. Our check in included details of an app called FREENOW which allows you to prebook taxis. It was 40 euro back to the airport. Maybe this could have been better explained. Overall a great stay and would recommend.

What an amazing gem we found. We were 3 couples traveling to Europe with a couple of days in Rome. Stefano was a fantastic host! We each had a nice room with full bathroom & mini fridge. We had breakfast each morning in the Common Room & wine each night up on the rooftop terrace. From the terrace you can see the entire city…Breathtaking! It’s located in the Trastevere neighborhood which houses the absolute best dining in Rome, and reasonably priced as well. It was great being outside of the more touristy areas yet close enough to walk. Stefano was also kind enough to arrange our transportation from the airport & to the cruise port. We cannot wait to go back for another visit!

Amazing! Beautiful! My mother in her late 70ties went to visit my son who is studying in Rome. This magical place is owned by two brothers who go beyond any definition of hospitality to make your stay A true dream Roman holiday. They helped my older mom with everything. My son had an emergency (he is 18 with diabetes 1) and they actually helped at 1 AM! Domus Monami is where old European class meets the modern comfort and you wish you could just stay longer, no matter for how long you are there for. The owners are like your family who respect your privacy:):). We are going back as soon we are able to. 🙏🏻💕

Dreamy, intimate family-run hotel. Highlights: - The hospitality is unmatched. Stefano and Fabrizio go out of their ways to make our stay memorable. Thanks for booking me drivers when I needed them and making recommendations for Orvieto! - Incredible views from the terrace and also just down the road at an overlook - Clean rooms - always a plus - interesting , countless objects to admire in the house from art to history including their own little piece of the Roman Empire. Amazing! The furniture in the rooms omg - easily accessible on what’s app for questions and correspondence - never waited more than 3 min for a taxi Worth noting: - breakfast is delicious! But served in a box, don’t let this deter you. Includes beautiful pastries and fruit. - with a beautiful view comes a good deal of hill-walking to and from trastevere. I personally loved that but it may not be for everyone.

A beautiful, family-run hotel in a perfect location with the most welcoming and helpful hosts--we are so glad we found Domus Monamí! The property is elegant, spotless and decorated with family artwork and heirlooms, creating a truly special atmosphere. It's located in a quiet, leafy neighborhood that's just a short walk from the bustle of Trastevere. The rooms are extremely comfortable, and there's a rooftop terrace with a breathtaking view of the city. We can't wait to return here on our next trip to Rome.

I booked this place because it had large rooms, in Travestere, and had an authentic charm, and I received what I was wishing for. When I started to read reviews, I noticed many were from 1 review reviewers and I got worried that I wouldn't be all that I expected. Well, I was wrong. This Guest House was excellent! We were in Rome for 4 nights, in the heat wave. Asthmatic Canadian that I am, this was very difficult for me. I was very happy that our room had very good functionning AC. It also affected our visiting plans, so we spent a lot of time at the House. The House itself is a family heirloom full of memories for its owners. It has a large common room, and equally large rooftop. We were very grateful to be able to use both as some evenings, we were too tired and hot to go back out again and ordered in our supper to enjoy at the House. It is very stately, and decorated with the owners amazing amazing art from their mother. She has a true gift. The online descriptions of the rooms were very realist and accurate. The room was exactly as I expected. It was a large room set up with 2 twins beds as we requested. The beds and linen were confortable. We had a view of the garden, it had a nespresso machine and kettle (bring your coffee or tea) and a small fridge and safe. The small fridge had a few drinks and snacks for purchase and I did quite enjoy the prosseco they sold at a good price! There was a very comfy sofa chair where I spent several hours reading with my prosecco while my daughter slept. The bathroom was a good size with giant miror. It also had an old lady's make-up mirror which I appreciated! ;-) and plenty of counter space for our products. If there is one suggestion I would do is to put a step in the bathroom to access the bath for shorties like me! It was very clean. I was glad to stay in this area. It is authentic, beautiful beyond words, local and calm. Even taxis we took mentioned how great a place this was when we arrived. On regular 33 celcius days, the 10 min. walk down and up is easy, as you have different path options. It is great to walk with locals and get to the bottom part of Travestere for a meal or aperitivo. When in the 40ies, I admit that we have taken a taxi back up, between 11 and 18 euros depending on where we started from. We were glad to have the option, but in 'normal' weather, the walk is pleasant and safe. Due to the weather, we were often out early in the AM so we missed the opportunity to have breakfast with the hosts and other guests, but hopefully another stay. Stefano and Fabrizio were so welcoming and sweet. Communication with them was easy from booking to departure. They made our stay so enjoyable. Thank you both!
