It was perfect for us. Only had 2 days in Rome but managed to see all the sights we wanted with only 10 min walk between each stop. Loved it! Thank you for a great stay

The location is good but little far from subway and bus stop, no basic amenities like drinking water (paid mini bar), iron press and a kettle. I will not recommend this place.

This hotel is perfect for a family getaway or a romantic weekend. It has everything you need, a nice pool, beautiful bar, nice clean rooms, helpful staff and the location in handy.

This was a very nice hotel in a location close to a few restaurants and metro stations. Enjoyed the pool and being able to order drinks from the bar! Booking some time in the spa was the cherry on top.

Great location, very clean. Not even a kettle available, though. Zero amenities at all...

Good central location and very close to metro line B. Excellent and very friendly service (late check-out offered). The lunch buffer was good and plentiful. The only downside, the room although very modern and clean was a bit dark and in particular the bathroom. I recommend.

We stayed at the building hotel for 4 nights. On arrival the front desk staff were friendly and helpful and we were booked into our family room. The room was clean and modern and for the price was good value. The hotel is in a good area which is not noisy and the metro was a walk away and also the main Termini station a short walk away. If you need to go anywhere the staff at reception would always be happy to advise and offer recommendations such as places to eat as well. The hotel staff also booked taxis and would tell you approx how much these would cost as well. In the morning the breakfast were lovey include hot and cold selections and the custard pastries were lovely. You could even have a glass of Italian sparkling wine with your breakfast. In the evenings the hotel bar is a amazing place to relax after a hard day's sightseeing and the piano player Carmelo was a great musician and a lovely person who would play requests. The hotel bar and hospitality manager was also a lovey man who would chat and smile and he made sure his guess were happy. We are now home but miss this hotel and would certainly return again.

Booked this hotel to visit Rome and celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary. Booked via the classic collection with Fred Olsen holidays. We booked a superior room but was given a 'classic' which equals basic. One pillow on the bed. A blanket and a sheet on the bed. Dark grey paint making the room resemble a dungeon. Inadequate lighting so poor that you had to use a phone torch to be able to read. To be fair the mattress was comfortable and the room was clean. No mirror to apply make up or do your hair. A wardrobe with 8 hangers and no drawer space. A ledge for a bed side table. We highlighted the room booking error and were advised that there was nothing they could do that night but the next day we were moved to another room. This room was smaller, same dark grey décor, small outdoor terrace, but next to the lift! No upgrade at all. This hotel has a lift, a spa (which you pay an extra 25 E pp to use for 2 hours) and small outdoor pool so qualifies as a 4* hotel but there is nothing luxury about this hotel.

After reviewing a few hotels in Rome we decided to pick The Building. Staff were incredible and helped us with information getting around the city and best places to visit (outside of the usual tourist landmarks). We received a nice bottle and assorted snacks when we arrived to our room as this trip was for our honeymoon, which was a nice surprise. Hotel was clean and room was changed every day. Breakfast has a wide variety of continental breakfast and was sufficient for our trip (we originally didn’t realise that was included so planned to go elsewhere). Not overly clear on the website but it’s right round the corner from a metro station and only one stop from the Termini then a 5 minute walk, Otherwise it’s about a 20/25 walk from Termini.

I would say five out of five because of the location because of their wonderful food, their hospitality in the spa their price is wonderful compared to some other hotels in the category that you’re in the volume is very spot on the accommodations were great. The rooms were very clean the bathrooms hadeverything you need went in some other hotels you would need to ask for them.

Do not stay here unless you want your entire trip to be at risk and ruined. Sept. 24, 2024 - We arrived at 11pm after a long travel day filled with delays only for the front desk staff to tell us they couldn't accommodate our booking - which was made directly on their website May 2024. Their reasoning was an "accidental overbooking." They said they had a room for us at their sister hotel 20 minutes away and would pay for our taxi over ... how generous. However, they said we could only stay there one night because that hotel was full the second night. This meant we couldn't settle into our room because we had to move again the second day, it was very annoying. We only had two days in Rome, so you can imagine the inconvenience and stress it caused us. On the second day, we returned to The Building Hotel, and the front desk offered us two vouchers: two free drinks at the bar and access to the spa. We tried to go to the spa right away (to alleviate some stress) and it was fully booked for the evening, we were leaving the next day at 10 am so we couldn't even use this voucher. Then, we get into our room which was filled with paint fumes, we opened the window and decided to ignore it. We then turned on the shower and the entire bathroom started to flood, the fresh paint started to drip off the ceiling and it was obvious that was why we couldn't check in the night before. We went downstairs to tell the front desk and asked to speak to a manager, apparently there wasn't one on-site for the next two days. I emailed them with my concerns and to request a refund or some sort of compensation and they offered me a "discount for our next stay" (we live in a different country) and said there was "plumbing issues beyond their control" and that is why we couldn't check in the first night. Needless to say, we will not be returning to this hotel and highly suggest you do not as well.

Good city hotel. Room was better than expected! 😁 Convenient to all major attractions we walked most places the metro station is around the corner . Breakfast was good not great . Staff are helpful and knowledgeable gave us good directions. Luggage was was able to be stored when we spent the day shopping. Taxis are not always easy to obtain and quite expensive.

Created a TripAdvisor account to specifically leave a review for the hotel pianist Max. He plays most nights and is one of the best piano players we have seen. Max has a music book with 180 songs (we counted!) you can request from. All he needs is to hear the song title called out across the room and he can instantly jump right into song. He has no pompous air to him like a lot of pianists - he looks like a regular Italian gentleman with such a cheerful smile and fun waistcoats that he wears; who just so happens to be a virtuoso pianist. Max is genuinely one of the highlights from our holiday to Rome.
