Antico Albergo del Sole Al Pantheon

Location, amenities, and staff were exquisite. Booked a suite and a double room for myself, daughter, mother-in-law and sister-in-law. Our rooms had views of the Pantheon. Everyday fresh cold bottles of still and sparkling water were delivered in the afternoon along with a small glass cloche covered dish of cookies. While obviously recently remodeled and updated, it retains the beauty of its age. This is not a modern hotel. This is a centuries old building updated with elegance and modern conveniences. Think classic service and style. I prefer luxury when I travel and the suite and staff met my standards. It could not have been a better choice.

Our stay in the newly renovated two bedroom apartment was amazing. Our room had unforgettable views and extremely luxurious. Upon arrival we were met with multiple bouquets of fresh flowers and Dante was one of the best bellman we have met. We are traveling with two young girls and two grandparents, there was more than enough space for the six of us and no detail was left untouched when finishing this space. 10/10 will stay here for future visits to Rome.

We originally booked a 2 night stay at this hotel. We were supposed to be on the inaugural Sun Princess cruise which was unfortunately canceled as the ship was not ready. We were refunded by the hotel in Barcelona, however, this hotel refused to refund our stay due to the very extraordinary reasons even with proof from Princess that they canceled the cruise and were our transportation to Rome. We were able to come to Rome for another cruise and requested that the hotel please move our first night to the week before since we had already paid them in full 6 months prior. They said they would do that but they would charge an additional $206 Euro, which at that time came to $238.61 US. We asked that since we had already paid them if they could waive that fee, but they refused. When we arrived at the hotel we were unimpressed to see how run down it was. The carpets were stained in the hallways and lobby. Our room was very small and there was no ventilation. There was a window high above the bed in the corner that you could not reach, nor open. When we went out to dinner that night we saw another hotel just across the way which was in much better shape, the rooms were larger, had windows, air conditioning and the bathrooms were larger, and if we had booked that day it would have been $155! Both hotels have views of the Pantheon. We would never recommend this hotel and in fact have told the 9 other friends who had booked to stay there that they book the other hotel instead. VERY disappointed in the way this hotel handled this situation.

A lovely hotel, very friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast was delicious, and the hotel is very central to all the tourist attractions. It is right by of the Pantheon, yet it is so quiet. The bed is comfortable too. There are plenty of restaurants and bars nearby. 7 minute walk to buses. Shops nearby.

This is a very classy, luxurious hotel in front of the Pantheon. I loved the use of blue velvet all throughout the interior design of the property, as well as the herringbone wooden floors - really added to the elegant atmosphere. I stayed in a Prestige Room with a view of the Pantheon and it was just so magical getting up everyday, opening the windows and witnessing that incredible view. I loved the breakfast, there was a wide selection available and lots of tasty options. The staff here were always very friendly to help and assist in any way also. Overall, really enjoyed my stay in this convenient location.

Hotel was in a great location for our 3 night stay. It was pretty loud until late in the night so i wouldn't recommend for families with young children or light sleepers. To clarify, the noise was coming from outside in front of the pantheon - not inbetween rooms. Beds were comfy, room was small. Much smaller than our hotel in Florence but to be expected when you are so close to some main sites. Staff was friendly and helpful in ordering us a taxi the morning we left.

The hotel is an ancient hotel (one of the oldest in the city), it is upgraded however it is not for people with any mobility issues. They have one very tiny slow elevator, and there is a lot of steps with no ramps. The staff are amazing and the location is outstanding (right in front of the Pantheon). Note: there is no vehicle access to the front door of the hotel as it is in a piazza.

It’s very hard to beat this place as the perfect location in the heart of touristic Rome….. just step out of the door and there you are in front the Pantheon, one of one of the world’s most iconic buildings. And a multitude of key historic and cultural attractions are under thirty minutes walk. The building itself is hundreds of years old, resulting in so oddly divided spaces, a lot of little staircases. Stayed there seven years ago and it’s been renovated, looking quite different. Our room was VERY small, but well appointed with comfortable bed and a nice bathroom. A nice buffet breakfast was included. Staff very friendly, responsive and helpful.
