Garden's Elide

Odd little place. Well situated near Termini and Republic Metro. Quiet location. Friendly host. Tidy. Quainte old fashion keys. But no service (room clean) feels like Covid days again. Clean towels at front entry, and I’m sure sheets if one needed them, but room never made up. Internet was weak and intermittent, but did connect. Reasonable value for Rome. Just recognize the limitations.

Very close to Rome city centre! Super clean ! Only downside is the nights/mornings can get a bit loud but otherwise there is nothing to fault in the room itself !

This was a great property. The owner was very welcoming, and it was extremely safe. There was police and guards right outside in front of our place across the street. It was literally 10 to 15 minute walking distance from most places like the Colosseum, Spanish steps, fountain of Trevi. The Vatican was an hour walking distance, which we did no problem. There was an amazing restaurant just across the street Great pizzas, pastas and coffees. Highly recommend and the prices were extremely reasonable. Just a few steps down the way was a café with pastries, Italian desserts, and fresh croissants and baked items. It was a 10 minute walk from the train station. Our room was extremely clean. Definitely would stay here again. We felt extremely safe and the owner that manage the place was very welcoming. The price is extremely reasonable.

No WiFi reception in the room. No hand or body soap, even on request ("not included" we were told), only 2 little shampoos. Roll of toilet paper already started. Old IKEA furniture. Poor lighting in the bathroom. Noise from street on Friday night. Another night, you could hear noise from pipes through the building. Only on the third day was the room cleaned. The windows and rusty shutters don't open and the curtain was torn. The bedspread had stains as did the mattress of the extra bed. The hot water in the shower was not enough for two people to shower. We don't understand how this place had good ratings by others. We don't look for fancy places, just a place to sleep and take a rest in the middle of the day but we refrained from resting because it was not pleasant to be in the room. One night a couple banged on the outside door for a long time around 11:00 PM. We eventually opened the door, but they couldn't get their room. They had notified they would arrive late but were not met as promised and they made phone calls. I guess eventually following our suggestion that they go to the adjacent Elide and ask for them to call the person to let them in to Garden Elide they got in. The cleanliness was reasonable. The mattress was terrible. The photos make it look better than it actually is. The television was on the table next to the refrigerator, not hung on the wall. We never saw other guests. They say you get what you pay for, but we feel we payed for things we didn't get.
