The hotel is in a great position very close to shopping, sites and restaurants. The staff were very kind and welcoming they arranged for transportation as well as making recommendations for dining. All of the staff that we encountered were genuinely friendly.

My husband and I spent 9 nights the first week in July 2023 in La Lumiere di Piazza di Spagna. We look for small boutique hotels when we travel and this one was wonderful. The room was totally adequate in size with a big closet, a desk, really great shower and everything we could need. It had air conditioning that you control yourself. Very clean. Breakfast every morning was just the right variety and amount of food to get us through most of the day. And very convenient. The hotel has a tiny elevator that might be an issue for some but it was not a problem for us at all. The hotel staff was extremely friendly, helpful and cordial. I had asked for a restaurant reservation be made before we left home since there was no online reservation option at that particular restaurant. Natalia made the reservation for us and we were all set when we arrived. On my birthday that week the hotel presented me with a bottle of champagne which was so nice of them. The location was even better than we thought it would be. A couple of blocks from the Spanish Steps, one minute walk to any number of restaurants and shops and a 10 - 30 minute walk from most of the main historic sites. The hotel was central enough that after walking all day we could go back and have a rest and then stroll to Trastevere for dinner and a walk along the Tiber River or whatever else we wanted to do. It is convenient to the Metro and taxis and banks. The only issue we had was when we wanted to have a taxi called at 7:00 am to go to the airport there wasn't going to be a concierge on duty before 7:00 to do that. We were unclear if we could be assured of a taxi so early on a Sunday morning at a taxi stand. We went online and eventually found a reliable taxi company and the concierge called the day before we left to arrange for a cab to the airport. So now the hotel has the name and number of Pronto taxi which was really good. We highly recommend this hotel. We had a great stay and a great vacation.

This hotel should be avoided at all costs. I had made a booking in March for a stay in July and my booking was confirmed then. 3 days before my arrival date, I received an email that my reservation was cancelled as my credit card was being declined. This is the same credit card that I have used for booking at many hotels during our trip to Italy with not a single problem at any of the hotels. I tried to call the hotel many times but no one picked up the phone. When I finally reached the front desk, they said they were not with the reservation department and asked to send an email with my credit card details. I sent that promptly and it was still rejected. I called the credit card company and they assured me that that there was never any request for authorization from the hotel. So that makes me believe that they chose to simply cancel my reservation and perhaps offer it to someone else at a higher price. Needless to stay, this caused a lot of stress on our vacation and we were thankfully able to find an alternate hotel for our stay on 3 days notice. I am writing this comment to warn others of the unethical practice of this hotel.

Great boutique hotel in a fantastic location near the Spanish Steps. Everyone at the hotel friendly and helpful especially Dominico at the front desk who went out of his way when I lost my cell phone. Super central location in Rome surrounded by fabulous cafes and tons of shopping.

The property was fine, and close to Villa Borghese, which i was planning to visit during this short stay in Rome, yet- i wasnt thrilled with fre things: 1. Property was not attended by staff 24/7, i had a key to the entrance door, which i didnt particularly enjoyed. 2. The wonderful terrace they post on the website is not there. And that terrace was one of the reasons i picjet the hotel from numerous options. 3. I asked front desk to book me a taxi to the airpot and Hotel management offered me a 65 euro rate to get to Ciampino Airport, when an official taxi rate is 31 euros, in addition they explained high price as a "night rate", because i needed a taxi at 5 am. This is also a scam, as there are no night/day rate differences. But what really raised my eyebrows- they wanted me to pay full price in cash a day in advance. Naturally I didnt use their services. I am not certain staff at this hotel should be in hospitality industry. Oh, and regrettably, i had the worst cappuccino there, when i attended the breakfast.

Hotel internet was not working the entire visit. They told us to just use the retailer Tod's internet, be aware Tod's turn off their internet when they close. They do not have 24 hour front desk as was advertised and no one answers the phone when they are not at the hotel. Breakfast was not good. The shower in our room did not work the first night we were there, they moved us to another room the next afternoon after the occupants had checked out. Hotel is in a bit of a time warp. I Would not recommend and certainly would never return.

We chose this hotel because of its location and because it says on the official website that the reception works 24 hours a day. The latter is not the case. After 11 p.m. there is no more staff in the hotel until the next morning. On the day of check out, we had to leave at 3.30 a.m. They advised us that it was convenient to hire the transfer to Fiumicino the day before, with the company they worked with to guarantee that they would comply. The reception employee scheduled the order but the transfer never arrived. We waited half an hour, alone at the reception. We contacted the hotel telephone number that is written on the door. The person who helped us told us that he was very sorry for the incident but it had been another employee who had booked the transfer and he couldn't do anything. Alone and desperate at the possibility of missing our 6 a.m. flight, we went out into the street looking for help. The security employee of a neighboring establishment very kindly helped us, made a series of calls on our behalf and requested a taxi, which arrived within 6 minutes. We arrived just in time, stressed. We don't wish it on anyone. For this reason we do not recommend this hotel. Excessively expensive and there is no price-quality relationship. P.S. They wanted to charge me 1 euro per page to print the boarding passes. This has never happened to me in a hotel...
