The room facilities are old, the air conditioner is very noisy, and you have to turn it off at night. The bedding is uncomfortable, and there is no kettle. It is a little far from the subway station, so you have to take the hotel shuttle bus to and from.

It's a bit far from the old town of Rome, so it's best to take the hotel's Shuttle bus to the subway station. The hotel is very good and very cost-effective in Rome.

The location is very messy and remote, and the name of the hotel has been changed to Belstay. The front desk said that Holiday Inn closed four years ago. I don't know why it hasn't been changed. And if you are not traveling by car, I really don't recommend choosing this hotel. There is no subway nearby. The only way is to take a bus for half an hour and then transfer to the subway to reach the city.

When I made the reservation, I called it holiday inn, but after I went there, it became Belstay. The decoration is also old and the bathroom still has a smell.

This hotel was by far the worst I have ever stayed at! It was all super dirty and I even found ants in my room. The bathroom door could not close, only lock and the air conditioner was amazingly loud. The breakfast was very poor. We asked our room to get cleaned and we found a face towel in the bidet. And to top it off the location is super bad.

I like to give the positives and negatives for hotels. The hotel is easy to find, with plenty of car parking spaces, some undercover. Reception was easy to find when arriving and the staff were friendly and helpful. We wanted to go for a swim, but it closed at 6.30pm, and we arrived at reception 6.10pm, so didn’t have time once in our room. During hotter months I would like to suggest staying open until 7.30pm, especially if customers are sight seeing all day, it’s nice to jump in a pool after. The pool area and bar was clean and tidy, and the restaurant was the same. Our room was 148, first floor, overlooking the car park. There are two lifts and stairs to all floors. The hotel also had a gym and conference rooms. This was only a stop over stay for us, literally booking 30 mins before arriving, as we wanted to go into Rome for the evening. The hotel has a shuttle bus that takes you to the nearest underground station, but only goes once per hour, and only eight seats. Its first come served basis. When we worked out it would take longer by public transport we abandoned the idea of the shuttle and drove our own car into the city, which took 24 mins. The breakfast was fine, we paid €15 euros for three of us to eat, there was enough there to set us up for the day, go earlier though as lots had run out, but you could ask for more. The staff were all very friendly to us. Reception staff showed me maps of the city centre and where to park (spot on). Ca not fault them. Now to the reason why I didn’t give a high rating. The carpets and walls along corridor and in room are very worn, and our rooms AC didn’t work properly, wouldn’t go below 20c, and it was 32c outside, so hot. The bedroom was described as triple room, with a double and one single. The single was tiny, would say more a toddler bed size. It’s states it’s attached to train station, but isn’t, only via tue shuttle. The hotel had lots of coach parties staying, but they didn’t look like they had taken it all over. I was happy to stay one night.

This will be part 1 of my 2 part review. To give some idea of where we're heading, my wife and I had the most humiliating awful experience at this hotel and I am currently waiting for the hotel's General Manager to respond back to me. It's not hopeful that she will because she just sent me a message saying "I did not receive anything and I am not interested." So it appears she doesn't give a damn about looking into my complaint which is in line with the arrogant attitude of the rest of the staff. But I will persevere have no doubt. I have also written to a few senior Belstay directors and the CEO but no one has bothered to make contact with me. In the meantime I strongly advise against staying at this hotel as our experience was shattering.
Response from Property: Dear Dr. Taylor, unfortunately the Hotel in Rome has had very unpleasant surprises from unsuspected people recently and the staff have procedures to follow. This is not a justifications for what happened, for which we all apologize, especially Fabio and Stella; I would highlight that this is the first time that we read of disrespectful behavior from our staff. I am sure it was an unpleasant misunderstanding, you have been able to verify our sense of hospitality during your stay, you extended your stay for two nights at the Belstay Roma Aurelia. We hope you will have the opportunity to return to our hotels in the future, in order to give you the welcome you deserve. Kind Regards Anna d'Alfonso General Manager

Great staff - thoughtful and helpful. Rooms were nice. The floor in our room had not been vacuumed because I found hair on the floor, but housekeeping came right up and took care of it. The drinks were good at the bar. We would stay here again.
Response from Property: Thanks for your feedback , it is important for us. We hope you will choose us again during your next trip. Anna d'Alfonso General Manager

Hotel charges for everything 10 pp to use the pool is outrageous. Also seemed annoyed when I would ask a question at the front desk. No food options nearby but does have a restaurant inside.

After reading a few other reviews, it was with some trepidation we arrived for our 3 day visit to Rome and our stay at hotel Belstay Roma. On arrival we were pleasantly surprised to see perfectly groomed gardens and entrance to the Hotel. The check-in staff were courteous and helpful. giving us all the information that was required for our route to travel into the centre of Rome and the sights and tours we had booked whilst in the UK. Our room and bathroom were both spotless amd fully equipped with toiletries and towels. The bed was comfy and the room was cleaned daily with a change of linen. The breakfast restaurant was immaculate with a great selection of continental breakfast and hot food. The restaurant menu was limited but food was excellent. Also bar was well stocked and staff were also very good. On checking out yesterday, the staff were again courteous and asked if we had enjoyed our stay abd also if there was anything they could do for us whilst waiting for the shuttle bus to the airport. Well done to everyone who help us enjoy our stay. It's a great hotel venue for meetings and conferences if just a tad out of the centre but the hotel shuttle bus took us to tge metro and picked us up on our return after very full days of amazing tours. Thank you all at Belstay Roma Aurelia 100% Marie and Gerry Sexton 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

My flight from Rome to JFK was cancelled on October 1, 2023. Delta Air Lines transported passengers to this hotel for an overnight stay. Some minor problems with my room, TV not connected to internet, Phone not working, Lights shutting off every 55 seconds. Light problem was corrected. The others were not. Staff appeared not to be very competent when addressing questions. But the worst of the stay was the food. Lunch was provided after a hour wait. It consisted of Potato Crisps, Penne Pasta with a light red sauce and what appeared to beef patties, and rolls. Rolls were stale, no one touched the beef patties. Dinner was very similar. Also delayed. We were to be there at 7. Food arrives at 7:50 PM. Same Potato crisps, Penne Pasta with Pesto, and Chicken nuggets. . Both meals had no other vegetables. See pictures. When I go to Italy, I know the food will always be good, almost every where I go. I know airline passengers who are in this situation have a lower grade of food and service, but this was terrible. Staff informed us that our food selection was bases on the 'contract' they had with the airlines. The hotel appears to be a dumping ground for passengers with cancelled flights. I think with out those guests, there would be very few people going to this hotel.
