Rome Hotels with Breakfast

As part of our ongoing Europe trip, I stayed with my aunt and my friend for 4 nights; we booked 2 rooms, our bed looked like a double but was 2 single joined so it was great for me and my aunt as we separated the beds. The hotel had good amenities - private bathroom was huge although for some reason the lights would just turn off randomly? I don't know if it was just our room or everyone else's. The swimming pool is only opened in the summer!! so it was closed for us, which was sad. The staff was really nice and they gave us extra blankets, coffee machine and a kettle when we asked for it! Really appreciated their help and trust me there was so many large groups always arriving at this hotel so they were doing amazing. We paid for dinner once and a breakfast. Dinner was hit or miss - I loved my Chicken salad, but the others weren't impressed with the burgers they had but breakfast was definitely better. I think the star was the beans because wow they were good. The only major cons about the stay was that our room was located right next to the elevator (same as Florence) and it was noisy all morning and late at night, plus some construction at like 8am ish so please if you can, ask for a faraway room! Also the distance from the city centre was quite tiring, yes it is only 23 mins metro from the Torre Angela station but an 11 mins walk from the station to the hotel and with our suitcases and the station exit not having any elevators, it was hard work. To get to the hotel side, you need to first go down the stairs, then up the stairs and go down again so if you are walking from the station to the hotel, be prepared!

The hotel is in a nice location with a train entrance just down the street. It was very clean, our room was very nice for the four of us and the hotel personnel were very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed their breakfast every morning- it had a.good selection of breakfast food. Several great restaurants in the area. We enjoyed the wine bar next door - great food and wine. We also had wonderful drinks at Gatsby’s on the other side of the hotel. It was a 15 minute walk from the main train station which was not bad at all. We had a wonderful dinner around the corner at Vecchia Roma- you must make a reservation or get there before they open to get in line. We got there 15 minutes after they opened and waited 35 minutes for a table but it was worth it. We enjoyed our visit and would stay here again.

A large five-star hotel with more than 200 rooms, so it is standard, and there are no surprises. Junior Suite 449 with a balcony, overlooking the fountain square and the church next to it, feels pretty good. The breakfast was very good and the ingredients were great. I went to the swimming pool on the roof terrace, but unfortunately, it was closed at the end of September! Very disappointed.

I stayed 4 nights at Palazzo Montemartini with my family during our Italy trip. The property is very well maintained and the location is convenient (right across the main train station). Very helpful staff and outstanding service all around. They have a beautiful spa, and we even had time for a 1 hour massage with my son, which I highly recommend (they definitely knew what they where doing). Th building itself looks very Roman and historic, but the interior and the rooms have a much more modern feel. They have a nice rooftop terrace wit great views of Rome. The restaurant was also very beautifully decorated with excellent food options to choose from. There was some elevator issues, but I'm sure it was only temporary, besides there are enough elevators to not make it a big deal. I will definitely stay here again next time. Thank you!!!

Very near Vatican, good breakfast and room is clean. Staff is very friendly and helpful.

A really nice clean hotel. Very basic - a few bottles of water or toiletries would have been nice but absolutely perfect if you're staying in the city for a few days. Close to good restaurants and near to the Metro and train station

Deserves to be a five-star hotel, the service is amazing, and the bedding is very comfortable. Excellent location right on top of the Spanish steps. Because I booked six nights, I got a free room with a small balcony. As soon as I entered the room, I was pleasantly surprised. There were welcome fruits and a welcome card with my name printed on it (still bilingual in Chinese and English). The cleaning service is professional and clean. Free water and chocolate every day and a bottle of red wine. There is a Mixing restaurant on the sixth floor of the hotel. Unfortunately, I did not go to taste this time. Before I left, I went to the restaurant on the first floor of his house. Angus steak was superb and delicious. In short, such a hotel is worth going to Rome again.

Looking for a place to stay in connection with concerts/activities at Pallazo dello Sport look no further - Hotel Shangri-La Roma in the EUR area is a perfect choice! We were holding tickets for a concert and debating forth and back with ourselves whether to stay in down-town historic Rome or change hotel and move to the EUR area in this connection. We chose the latter and were very happy that we did! The EUR district is situated more than 1 hr. by pubic transportation (bus/metro) from downtown historic Rome and one should not count on time-schedules running late evening nor to find a taxi in the chaos outside the sport hall, so staying overnight in the EUR area is the only sensible thing to do. And for that purpose Hotel Shagri-La is perfect! It took us merely 7 min, to walk between the hotel and the hall. Hotel Shangri-La is a hotel in a modern architechture with light halls and rooms in simple, smart and minimalistic design. The rooms are on the small side but offers you all the facilities you need for a briefer stay with a lovely, little adjacent bathroom. The decor is as shown in most of the pictures with white walls and orange blankets. Most rooms do likewise have a small private balcony or terrace - and so did ours - but with no view but for a concrete wall, so you need to ask specifically for a view of the green parklike area, if you would like that, we believe. But for a single night we were fine sitting for a tiny bit outside relaxing before getting off for the concert. OBS The EUR district is a very special area in suburban Rome with business and congress facilities spread out in a green area with lawns and trees and crossed by big busy boulevards. So you would like to stay here only in case of having business, meetings or sports/concerts events to take part in. There is no charming old historic Rome in sight here and it will take you long to get into down-town Rome from the hotel albeit various bus- and Metro lines are in the area. It took us some 40 min. by private taxi to get from Piazza Navona to Hotel Shangri-La in the afternoon. And as I mentioned before - the trafic situation outside the Palazzo dello Sport was more than chaotic, when we left the hall at midnight after our concert. But it took us just some 7 minutes to walk from the hall to Hotel Shangri-La along a well lit bit boulevard so it was a piece of cake! We were well received by the staff in the reception who spoke a perfect English and helped us get acquainted with the area on a map - and we had received a fine response before arriving as to how to get to the airport early next morning, so we were picked up at 04:30 am as pre-ordered by a nice car and friendly driver awaiting us and swiftly in some 15-20 min. driven to Fuciomicino. The price was as agreed upon (50 EUR incl. early morning pick-up), so we feel confident using and booking transfers directly with the hotel in the future as well. The location is a little closer to the Spanish steps, but it is also necessary to walk for at least 15 minutes, but it is safe and there is no pressure at night. The lobby is ok, the room is especially small, and somehow, a special sofa is placed in front of the TV. It is bigger than the door. I don’t know how to get it in. I especially wanted to move it to the door to let the hotel Look at how far this is outrageous, but the door can't move out, it is also convincing. Breakfast is not good, the food is not fresh, especially the ham, it has deteriorated when eaten, and the fruit is also very poor. Milan, Bologna, Florence, Naples, Sorrento, along the way, this is the worst quality hotel in the same price, has been staying at the end of October, the price is still 3000. + one night, the price is poor. Super is not recommended.

This was my second stay here visiting Rome unfortunately, each time we were plagued with a challenge-not the fault of the hotel but nonetheless challenging. This time a broken water main resulted in a very challenging situation. The staff did the best they could under the circumstances but I was disappointed that the hotel offered no compensation for the disruption. We tried changing hotels but were offered no options. Thankful the water was restored by the end of the day but it was very challenging. The staff did a great job but IHG should have offered something to the guests. It is still a good landing place to visit Rome and we will return
