We spent 4 days here and had a great time relaxing. The hotel and the wellness area are very nice and clean. The rest of the hotel and the rooms are a bit dated but perfectly livable and clean. The boss puts a lot of effort into it but as a single person she can't be everywhere in such a big hotel. Breakfast and dinner are served buffet style. The first thing you get for dinner is a large tureen of soup which, if you're unlucky, can take up to 15 minutes. Once there are no soup bowls and then something else is served. The staff are hopelessly overwhelmed and there is no leadership in the evenings and so everything is in disarray... the dishes are piled up on the table every single one of the 4 evenings. You have to be a bit assertive to get them cleared away. Meanwhile, breakfast, led by an extremely polite and capable man, poses no problems apart from the annoying dishes on the table. The buffet in the morning and evening is reminiscent of canteen food. A NO GO in terms of taste and appearance. Not everything is refilled, and you often have to take what's left over. We tried to speak to the manager, who was able to explain everything, including the staff being on vacation, etc. This morning we found a brief note on our table in which she apologized to her guests with the following words: "We apologize to our guests for yesterday's poor service, but it was due to the bad weather (I've unfortunately forgotten the exact wording)." That was basically the end of the matter for me until I found the following document in our room while packing. If you as a guest do not like something or have any complaints, please contact us during your stay and we will try to resolve everything - complaints after your stay will not be accepted - (reproduction of the text not word for word, only the content is reproduced by me) When my husband was then bid farewell with the words: next time you come back, I will prepare a special schnitzel for you the way you like it (we had complained the day before about the consistency and taste of the so-called Sunday schnitzel....I had to write something). Conclusion: Just because you own a coffee house, a guest house and a hotel in Schladming, you should be able to accept criticism and, above all, remain down to earth because the competition never sleeps - I don't want to offend anyone with this post, but I'm just a fan of the truth... maybe just my truth.
