Well if you’re thinking of booking your wedding here I would book elsewhere . We had a recent family wedding here . Its an aesthetic venue . I’d say instagramable . Firstly we went for a tasting experience of ‘the exact food ‘ we would have at the wedding . When the wedding came around , 6 weeks later, the food was nothing that we had sampled . Extremely smaller portions , guests feeling hungry after the dinner The desert was nothing like our sample snd was of extremely poor quality poor presentation and just not enough … a mere morsel , quite embarrassing really . On lead up to wedding any queries were not answered until very near wedding . The wedding co-ordinator , Grace, was very nice but she seems to have to do everything , reception , waitress , front of house , kitchen porter , customer service etc . I conveyed by disappointment to the ‘ management ‘ at this time and still have heard nothing and this was a few months ago . Generally it has very poor client care . I feel it could be managed better but needs money put into it for this to happen . Aldo if you are going … bring your own ketchup for the Irish breakfast .

The manor is extremely well finished and exceptionally clean. The staff were all quite friendly albeit that the reception desk was unmanned for long periods at a time. The house itself is extremely quiet. For instance there is no music in the residents bar although there is a grand piano in one of the lounges. The food in the Church Bar was only so so. The fillet steak had portions of fat for example and the mussels were coated with too much chorizo. But it must be stressed that the prices were very reasonable and the bar staff were very friendly and helpful at all times. A stay in the hotel would be more suited to people who are seeking tranquility in reading rooms and spa treatment.

I was here at a wedding recently & I have to say the service & food was shockingly bad,not one member of staff smiled at any stage, out table of 10 people got 4 roast potatoes in a bowl & 4 burnt things that we believe might have been potato gratin but not sure,we went to ask staff for more but couldn’t see anymore staff (our table was last served).During speeches staff were in what looked like a hall way & making loads of noise charting to each other. The starter risotto tasted like plastic & the beef seem to have been cooked a few days previously & the peppercorn sauce was starting to get a skin on it,it was accompanied with crispy onions if the Aldi/lidl type,no offer of extra sauce or gravy in fact no staff to ask for anything,I have to say the worst wedding food ever.Function room was stunning & an older gentleman behind the bar was a gentleman but everything & everyone else was very very very poor.Staff we met were shocking & non informative, really not good.

I went to the spa with my family and the experience was amazing. Very friendly staff, they checked if everything is ok and if we need anything else. The hydromassage pool delighted us the most. We left there relaxed and had dinner at The church restaurant and the food was excellent.

I just want to say that myself and my boyfriend stayed here for one night on Thursday the 15th of February and it has to be the best hotel experience I've ever had in my life. It was our anniversary and the staff at reception kindly upgraded us to the junior suite and left a lovely treat for us in the room. My jaw almost hit the floor when I walked in and seen the most beautiful room not to mention the bathtub alone!!😍 My friends & family at home couldn't believe it! The room was utterly fabulous. We are from Dungloe and to think that this is the closest hotel between where we live and Letterkenny is unbelievable. A hidden gem for sure. It was so special for us as we had not gone for a trip away together in some time and we were so impressed by the amazing room and service from all of your staff. We went for drinks down at the church and it happened to be only us in the bar. The boys who worked there were so helpful, chatty and a breath of fresh air. They made us some beautiful cocktails. When we came back, we got chatting to the night porter Marco who kindly gave us a free tour of the estate. The kindness of the staff are really why you will never forget this place. You would never get this elsewhere. The spa the next morning went above and beyond my expectations. I really didn't think it could get any better than the day before! I got a massage from a girl named Coleen who was so lovely inside and out and so helpful. The breakfast was just delicious and we were treated like royalty. As a first time staying in this hotel, I can confidently say that myself and my boyfriend throughly enjoyed our experience and we will definitely be back to stay with them again. Thank you so much to Rockhill for this truly unforgettable experience.

This is a beautiful manor home with some fabulous features. Unfortunately, like several of the reviews below, our experience of customer service was very disappointing. Consequently, we would be very slow to return or to recommend to others.

Very nice room, extremely helpful young staff. The manor house where we had breakfast is beautiful and beautifully maintained; breakfast itself was very good. Our room was in some sort of outbuilding that involved a bit of a walk from the parking lot (car park, as they say in Ireland). We had a bit of a snafu involving cleaning the room during our stay--there were two doors to the room, and evidently we locked the wrong one, so the staff couldn't enter it. It seems that ought to have been worked out better.

Very disappointed, booked for my birthday 3 months in advance, requested a specific room that was all fine I was booked in, 2weeks before my stay I ring to book the spa to be told I'm being moved to the coach house or else reschedule my date due to them now having a function on. Highly disappointed, booked off work especially for it and not easy getting time off, if I was contacted straight away when I booked I could have changed my dates off work.

We were gifted the 'Festive Afternoon Tea' in Rockhill House and it turned out to be one of the most perfect experiences I've ever had; and one we hope to repeat more in 2024! Due to a bit of a hectic year, I was lucky enough to manage to book it last minute for 30th December. From the booking, to the welcome, through the service and throughout the day, the staff were wonderful - very warm and welcoming; could not do enough for us; and even discussed the history of Rockhill House with us. The staff made us feel part of their family. The food was delicious and a beautiful display of some very tasty sandwiches and treats were presented to each of us, with all dietary needs catered for. All the little bites looked too tiny at initial glance... but turned out to be just right! Four sandwiches (my favourite was the prawn and salmon on wheaten bread); two scones with clotted cream and jam; four desserts; and four traybakes were accompanied by as many refills of a delicious tea that you could handle. I didn't try it myself, but my dad had coffee and said it was very good too. We were served our afternoon tea in the drawing room beside a big open fire and it was the most beautiful setting. With the dark, cold evening settling outside; to be inside in such sumptuous surroundings has probably been the most relaxed we all were for 2023. I, for one, could've happily stayed forever; and the staff and family seemed in no hurry to move us on. Unfortunately life started again, so we had to leave our fairytale experience behind; but not before we had a little wander around the house. It is absolutely beautiful; and would be perfect for a party or a wedding. Due to the time and the dark evening, we did not get a chance to wander around the grounds or take one of the trails. But sure that just gives us an excuse to return again...and again in 2024!! We had a wonderful, relaxing experience and I would thoroughly recommend it to anyone. Thank you so much Niall and all the staff. You really made our experience perfect.
