although the manager seems to do her best it doesn't take long to realize that she is absolutely terrified of the owner of the property who is an absentee landlord and will tell you what she thinks you want to hear while you are standing in front of her. numerous problems with this property ranging from a field mouse invasion, very spotty and dubious wifi and cable service ( always blamed on the cable co) to a massive sewage leak that caused a giant sinkhole to appear on the side of one of the buildings rendering several units without water and 1 unit looking like it might be swallowed by the expanding sinkhole never to be seen again. the maintenance guy does his best under the circumstances but is given little or nothing to work with. it's an extremely old property well beyond the " beginning to show it's age" stage in its life. some of the longer term residents display unique personalities to say the least. I travel extensively and like staying at mom and pop motels instead of chains when I can. this just shows that no matter how much you research you will hit a true lemon once in a while.

This older motel is a good value for a night’s stay travelling through. We had a ‘suite’ room, with a separate bedroom, and it had two little bar fridges and a microwave. The bathroom was a bit cramped, but otherwise it was spacious and comfortable. The staff is friendly and helpful. They’d had a real rain shower, and pulled the laundry carts into the room, so the carpet was a bit damp, for which they apologized. It wasn’t great, but not a big deal either. The location is easy to find and handy for coming into or leaving town. There is no breakfast offered. It’s good value for the price, a basic budget motel.

This motel has made an effort to spruce itself up with new bathrooms. The bed was not bad and there was plenty of hot water. Here's the problem. The place has a central swamp cooler that services all of the room. The cool humid air comes into the room through a very noisy overhead vent. Although the woman in charge said it would be shut off, it ran all night long. The electric heater in the room was non-functional so we also froze all night long. Seriously, we had our heads under the covers. We will laugh about this later but what a mistake I made booking this old motel.
