I stayed in a room with crumbling old mattresses. The sink and shower were clogged, pooling water. The hotel photos look better than it actually is.

O hotel possui um ótimo custo-benefício para quem está de passagem e vai ficar poucos dias. Fiquei apenas uma noite. Em se tratando do Centro do Rio de Janeiro, fica bem localizado. Próximo ao aeroporto, que era o que eu queria. Na hora de fazer o check in e pagar a estadia a recepcionista iria cobrar um valor mais alto do que o que eu havia fechado no booking. Mostrei o aplicativo para ela e ela então cobrou o valor certo. Contudo isso não foi o que eu menos gostei, na verdade nem me incomodou. O quarto estava com muito cheiro de água sanitária, ficamos com receio porque sou asmática e o cheiro forte me dá crise. Mas colocamos as coisas no quarto, ligamos o ar no mínimo, deixamos a janela aberta para amenizar o cheiro e saímos (e isso funcionou). A parte do banheiro que fica o vaso sanitário é minúscula. Meu namorado é alto e teve que usar o banheiro de porta aberta, de tão pequeno que era o espaço. Apesar da localização ser bem no Centro, o que é ótimo e prático durante o dia, na parte da noite não achamos nada seguro. Preferimos não andar por lá e pedir um lanche pelo ifood. Já havia me hospedado no Ibis Budget de Copacabana e a experiência foi ótima, não teve nenhum problema, por isso não pensei duas vezes na hora de ter escolhido esse. Hotel with many passengers and therefore very noisy, all the noise entered the room. Late check-in. The room key/card would not get the room, three times I had to go to the front desk until the key worked. The terrace and the pool are very small. It's not an ugly hotel, but...

We were on family holidays, I reserved a four-bed room, with a couple bed and two single beds, which was perfectly suited to us. After a strong rain we returned from a restaurant, we went up to 11th floor and this was flooded! We managed to get to the room and in a short time the water also started to get in it! I called the reception, who knew the problem already, and they told me that I could change the room, we closed the bags and went to another floor. The lift had water, which scared my children. We were directed to a triple room, with a couple bed and a single, we sleeped the first night right there ... we tightened a little. On the other day, I called the hotel's reception, who told me to talk to the hotel's govern, who said the hotel was in works and they didn't expect that rain. I said that we wouldn't have to return to our four-room ... As I had already paid on the entrance, we decided to stay. I made some claims, only one was not answered. But we don't like the way we were answered, in general. Out of this episode: Check-in and check-out ok. WI-FI is not as fast as informed. Parking was not vacant, I had to pay out in another place. Cleaning ok. Breakfast recommended, free. I didn't use room service, but it has. Good location.

I was hosted in this hotel last weekend - 02 to 03/07/2022. I have contacted me, and Mrs Vanessa has answered me, she kept the forgotten pieces, and the next day she sent me for Sedex with great delight and sympathy, and I would like to congratulate her on the sensitivity and empathy shown by that person. All the staff very careful and efficient.

Carlos my breakfast server always makes my morning start great. He is always on time and always makes sure I have everything I need. He speaks very good English. This is my second time to stay here for a week quaranteen and I have had him the majority of both visits.

Let me tell you about my stay, I went to Rio de Janeiro Brazil for 6 weeks from Sept to Oct 2020 for medical tourism.  During my trip and when I was not in the hospital having surgery I stayed at Hotel Vilamar and I'm so thankful I did.  There are so many things I could list, but I'll just list a few.  After my first surgery and I checked in, I was greeted by the Hotel manager Cecilia.  She was very kind, caring and assisted me in so many ways. She sent me to a wonderful salon to get my hair fixed after 6 days in the hospital.  If my friend (from The UK and I from The US) and I did not show up for breakfast because my face was all black & blue, or issues walking (I had 2 surgeries while there) she or her staff would call our room to see if we needed food sent up to our room. (I do not know if that's standard but to my friend and I, we felt special.)  If we ever called down to the front desk, or stopped at the desk and asked for something, the staff at Hotel Vilamar was on it, and took care of our needs.  In the morning when we would go for breakfast, the girls there would always greet us by our names and ask how we were and always asked if we needed anything. The gentlemen behind the desk were always pleasant and referred us to some great places to see that we did not know about.  One day I had to go to the pharmacy that was right next to the hotel but all the staff only spoke Portugese, Cecilia went with me to the pharmacy and helped me get everything I needed.  One day, post facial surgery I could only eat soft food and my eyes were all swollen, one of the staff members walked across the street to a gelato store and helped me get something to gelato.  The housekeeping staff was always kind and worked around me while I was recovering.   The hotel was always clean and shiny and the staff very attentive to our needs, but they were kind and treated us like family.  There is so much I could add about Cecilia and her staff, but I just want to say;  ”They not only meet our needs but they exceeded in meeting our expectation of the treatment someone staying at a hotel should receive. I have a friend who will be going to Rio very soon, I have already told them about Hotel Vilamar and she will be reaching out to them soon and I plan on returning during 2021 for another 4 to 6 weeks and I would stay at no other hotel.  I truly give them 10 stars!

Nice experience. It was a beautiful surprise to discover the place. The decoration is beautiful, the rooms very clean, excellent air conditioning. Also excellent kitchen service, excellent quality in general. I liked that they had a cowork space where you can work in peace too. There was very good attention and very good service from the staff, for example Alice and Fernanda, very nice and attentive to help. A totally recommended place.
