Che Lagarto Hostel Ipanema

The hostel is very bad, especially in relation to the price. They charged me $244 for two nights in a private room with a bathroom like the one in the photo they publish here. Although it is not cheap: I bathed with cold water all three days, the room DOES NOT HAVE WINDOWS (photos attached). Therefore it is ugly to sleep there and I don't know the clothes, the towels, or the floor are wet from the confinement. Even worse is that they have a mechanical ventilation system in these rooms and bathrooms that have no exit to the outside and makes a noise that bothers sleeping. The hostel is very well located but IT DOES NOT HAVE COMMON SPACES. There is no patio, no terrace, no living room, no kitchen that allows you to cook. There are only a couple of tables on the sidewalk with a gazebo. It is very poor for the standard that this chain is supposed to have. If I had paid less than 50 dollars a night I would have understood that the accommodation would be so simple. But it seems to me that it is a scam for what they charge. They force you to reserve with a guaranteed credit card no matter what and when you arrive you realize that it is not worth staying there for that money and you do not want to leave either because they charge you a minimum of one night as a punitive fee for canceling before 24 hours. I DO NOT RECOMMEND IT.
