That's not my first experience at this hotel and we chose it because of its quality vs cost.
That's the best breakfast there is among the hotels in the region at that price range. Very good options on eating and drinking and it also starts at 6:00 (half an hour before the others hotels)
Everything is very clean, the restaurant, bedrooms, bathroom, halls, etc.
The staff always presented themselves very polite and helpful
It's very quiet and you can not even listen to bedrooms adjacent, nor the street sound.
It's very well located, next to a lot of restaurants, bars, nightlife and market.
Very fast Hot water where you don't have to wait for minutes to heat
The only negative point would be the tv reception, but overall it's the best cost benefit

The hotel is located in the slums of Rio, with dirty and messy surroundings, and homeless people and beggars lying at the door. The hotel facilities are old and the sanitary conditions are worrying. There is no elevator from the lobby to the first floor, which is very inconvenient for guests with luggage. Although the breakfast room is not small, the dishes are monotonous and the choices are limited. In addition, the sound insulation of the windows is very poor, and the constant noise of cars and noise outside makes it difficult to fall asleep. It is regrettable to stay in this hotel. The reservation was for a double bed room but when we arrived at the hotel they had booked the wrong room with twin beds. But after some time and insistence, they fixed the room.
Good breakfast.
Other than that, the stay was good.
Large and comfortable room.
Shower with hot water working.
Mini fridge freezing.
There's just a lot of traffic noise on the street.
The TV only got Globo and nothing else. That was the very negative point. A hotel of this size does not have cable TV.
I'll take a Chromecast next time.

As you can see in the photo, the air conditioning in the room was an old model and was in need of maintenance. It was making a terrible intermittent noise. I was glad that I had been switched rooms, but the other one had another problem. Although it had modern air conditioning, it faced the street, where there is a bar next door. Even at two in the morning, there was a group of people in the corner of the bar drinking and yelling continuously at the highest volume possible. Even though I was on the fourth floor, kept everything closed and put my cell phone on to play white noise, I could still hear them. I had to use headphones. In any case, I had a terrible night's sleep. The breakfast was good and the staff were polite. The room looks old, but it is very tidy and perfectly adequate in terms of physical structure, except for the air conditioning. If the hotel would take care of the peace and quiet around it (by calling the police, for example) and maintain the air conditioning, it would be a great hotel. But if I could, I would choose another place.
