Savoy Othon Lite

The hotel is strategically located right behind Copacabana beach and this is its strong point....but for the rest... The structure is very dated, we had the rooms at 3 pm and even there, disorganization reigns supreme: why give everyone the rooms at the same time and not distribute the assignment as they were ready? Moral of the story, everyone crowded at the reception to collect the keys! Finally we enter the room, completely full of dust, torn curtains, furniture that is nothing short of vintage and an old bathroom with leaky fixtures and a plastic shower curtain...horror!! Clearly the bathroom window was broken as well as very dirty, like everything else, not to mention the last day, where we ran out of water! Mediocre breakfast, with poor quality sweets and juices from a dispenser (a lot of water and little juice!), I did not use the savory option and therefore I cannot judge.

The only positive thing is the proximity to Copacabana beach and the metro station. Breakfast - When going down for breakfast, don't count on having a free table. For such a large hotel, there are too few tables. When it comes to food, everything is done for quantity, not quality. Just mass-produced! The coffee is awful. Room - we got a room where you can hear literally everything, the air conditioning units were working outside the window. The noise was terrible, it's good that we mainly slept in the hotel. The cleanliness and the bathroom leave a lot to be desired. While the old things are ok, everything could be cleaner. The hotel service also leaves a lot to be desired. We probably won't be there again. The price is definitely too high for all these conditions!

Very good experience

I believe the hotel deserves a higher rating than it has today. Very well located and safe. Old installation, but it doesn't compromise comfort (I didn't smell mold, for example). Clean rooms and polite staff. The bad point really is the noise of the air conditioning and the curtain in the bathroom which, despite not being dirty, ends up getting wet outside the shower. It's my second time at the hotel, in a span of 9 years, and it didn't disappoint. I recommend.

The breakfast was quite good, but the hours were until 10 and at 9.30 there were already things missing that were not replenished. The room is very simple and basic. I went to Rio several times and paid less at other hotels and the basic rooms were excellent. When you enter the hotel hall, you don't expect the room to be this simple. The sheets were stained and were not changed throughout the stay. Very good location and friendly staff.
