I spent three nights here and had the standard 1-person room. Starting with the positive things: the premises and the atmosphere were lovely. The hotel has a cute patio, and the breakfast was good for a 3-star hotel. The personnel were welcoming and helpful. Check-in and check-out were both fast and easy, as I had booked through *********** and paid in advance. The less positive things are, my room's cleaning seemed a bit neglected. There was dust and dead insects on the furniture. The bathroom could've used some rubbing of the tile seams. The sound-proofing wasn't as good as I had hoped for. I wished to take a nap after the check-in, having woken up at 2 am for the flight the previous night, and while I eventually was able to get some sleep, people passing by the room in the corridor could be heard. There was also some noisy cleaning done at that time and people talking in the corridor. Of course, full quietness during the day-time can't be expected, but nevertheless, I wouldn't say the sound-proofing was good. As others have said. there isn't really air conditioning, so it tends to get hot in the room during the summer time. Perhaps there is some trade-off here: old buildings rarely can compete with modern hotels with e.g. sound-proofing, but on the other hand, you get to experience an uniquely atmospheric premise. Overall, I think 3 stars fit the experience pretty accurately.
