I selected this Courtyard to stay at as I had a conference nearby recently and this location was very close. Checking in was friendly and professional. The only issue during check-in was they had me sign a “parking waiver” which basically warmed me that when I parked, I needed to make sure the spaces I parked in were labeled “HOTEL” not with a number. Once I parked later that evening, it made sense to me, but is COMPLETLEY HORRIBLE!!! I parked in the proper space, but I observed an over-anxious private tow firm come by to tow a vehicle next to where I parked and the guy told me he was going to tow them because they parked in a numbered space. While I totally understand that this is a mixed-use garage, sharing space with apartments/condos and the hotel, the hotel needs to find a better way to manage this. Can you imagine being a traveler, parking here, coming out the next morning and your car is gone, simply because you didn’t pay attention to the label on the space?!?! So, this is why they have guests sign this waiver, so they can say they warned you. Well, when the owners decided to build a hotel here, they needed to find a better parking option and this one isn’t sufficient. Sorry, I get the labels, etc and I did the right thing, but my 25+ years in law enforcement tell me that rarely do people read the print on the road, especially a garage. If they want to do this right – they would give a parking pass that goes on the dash with a number and the tow driver would need to check with the desk BEFORE towing, which gives the desk the ability to call the owner of the vehicle BEFORE they get towed. (But that’s simply one option – Basically, it’s bad business to mix an apartment complex with a hotel) OK – Parking aside, the room was great! Newly renovated or maybe brand new totally – Either way, I really loved the layout and the cleanliness! The bed was comfy, everything was clean and worked great. I also loved all the USB and AC power options around the bed and in the room. Definitely loved their selection of channels on the TV too. Even the elevator worked great! (Most times in small hotels like this, the elevators are extremely slow and once they stop, they seem to take 10+ seconds just to open the door, but not here!) Overall, I’d stay here again, but I’m only giving 4 stars instead of the 5 stars the room, comfort, etc deserved just because of their poorly designed parking situation.
