Very comfortable! The swimming pool is not deep, about 1.1 meters, the children are very happy! ! ! !

We had an unplanned stay after a flat tire stranded us in Richmond. Travelodge had an available room for a reasonable price. The room was clean, bed was comfortable, front desk staff, Brian, was kind and helpful. It was a good place to sleep overnight on our travels. We didn't need extras, just a comfortable bed and clean room.
Red Roof Inn Richmond, IN

Gals at the front desk were friendly & helpful. I was on a 1600 mi trip w/3 dogs and it was nice to stay someplace where they don't ding you another $20+ per dog !!! Granted, this particular RRI property is a little rough around the edges, but adequate for a quick overnight. For example, the microwave didn't have the glass plate, the wood grained laminate flooring was oddly stained w/something white (maybe glue?) the windows were dirty & screen had a tear in it, curtains need to be replaced and I wouldn't dream of walking around the room barefooted as I doubt it would pass the white-sock test. Pillows need to be replaced but bed was comfortable, sheets & towels were clean. If you're looking for amenities, look elsewhere. If you're not expecting much you won't be disappointed. Let's put it this way, if I were traveling with my mother I'd pay more & stay somewhere else. But for myself, under the circumstances it was good enough for one night. Definitely ask to see your room first if you have any doubts.

This is a different hotel which is why I stayed here. Built in 1972 as a Ramada, it was higher end at the time. The lobby is on what would normally be considered the second floor so you have to climb up a steep ramp from the large flat parking lot. At the parking lot level they had a restaurant (now closed) and a small ballroom/conference facility (not sure if it is still open). Up the hill on the first floor is the lobby, a small breakfast area and the indoor pool (closed). First floor rooms are up about 10 steps and there is no elevator access, but the (very slow) elevator stops at all floors above this (2-4). It’s actually built in the shape of a plus sign and was designed to be compact and yes the layout mildly looks like a swastika which is the most efficient way to build a hotel. The advantage to this is from the elevator, most rooms are a short walk through the very wide corridors. Only one elevator appeared to be working during my stay. My checkin was quick, but the lady seemed disinterested or distracted. The room was small but nice, everything worked but the toilet was running so I fixed that (temporarily, the float was missing). Great TV, OK internet, small bathroom, comfortable bed with slight dip. Towels were sparse and thin. Part of the drapes were hanging down. Breakfast offering were slim (no jelly for toast), but the man on duty was asking everyone for input on how to improve things, and he seemed sincere. Decent rate at $60 for a total of $67 with taxes. I-70 is only about two blocks away. I enjoyed my stay, but like to have an easier walk from my room to the car, so I probably won’t stay here again. Definitely a unique adventure!
